I hope you are doing great! Today I am reviewing the NEW Maybelline Matte Dream Velvet Foundation. It’s fairly new to the drugstore, and I’ve been meaning to get this post up sooner, but you know how that goes, sometimes things just don’t work out. Anyways here it is, if you wanna know more keep reading.
Maybelline Matte Dream Velvet Foundation
What it is:
“Maybelline’s Dream Velvet Soft-Matte Hydrating Foundation is a refreshing gel-whipped foundation that leaves complexion perfected and smooth with a velvety, soft-matte finish while skin stays hydrated for 12 hours.”
It comes in a 1oz (standard foundation size) squeeze tube. Squeeze tubes are nice because you can usually get almost every drop of foundation left. There are 12 shades in the line.
Price & Where to Buy:
This can be found at any drugstores or Ulta around $10.99.
How to Use:
I always apply a primer and moisturizer to my skin before I start my foundation. I use the Morphe M439 Foundation brush (see a review here) with this foundation the most. But you can also a use a Beauty Blender as well. This day I used the Real Techniques Sponge. This foundation is a mousse consistency so you don’t need a lot of product to cover an area.
I am in the color Classic Ivory.
I’m really impressed with this foundation. To me it looks super flawless when first applied. It smooths out pores (believe me, I have large ones). It goes on perfectly and covers well. I would say this foundation is a medium to full coverage and it can be buildable, or sheered out more.
Just like the description says, it is a hydrating matte foundation. When applying it to the skin it almost feels like your face is getting a sip of water, and it really feels refreshed and hydrated. Some matte foundations are very drying, but that isn’t the case with this one. Because it is kind of hydrating, and I have extremely oily skin, this doesn’t keep me matte all day. By around 5pm everyday it is looking pretty greasy. But a quick blot of the t-zone of that will go away for a bit longer.
If you have normal, combo or slightly oily skin you will really love this. I definitely think you should give this a try! I love it!!
Do you go for a matte finish foundation or luminous?
