Hey everyone! I hope you are doing great today! Man, it’s been a while since I’ve written anything here. I planned to do a lot more blog posts last year but things really didn’t go as planned for any of us last year huh? I’m glad I’m back today, and I’m glad you are here too! Keep reading to reminisce about my 7 years blogging here and see my new brand.
7 Years Blogging + Rebranding
I started blogging right here at The Beauty Section 7 years ago (yesterday actually) on January 30, 2014. Honestly I can’t believe it has been that long, kind of blows my mind really. I don’t blog as consistently as I used to because life just gets in the way. But it is still a passion of mine and I still love talking about all things beauty like skincare, makeup, hair care etc. And I will always buy beauty products every where I go… I swear I can’t go into a store and walk out without a new lipstick or face wash. But I love it.
Here is a look down memory lane, so if you are new here take a look around and if you’ve been a long time follower, hopefully some of these will jog your memory!
I do this every year, but it’s a tradition :)
The very first post I wrote 7 years ago was a DIY Makeup Brush holder, I still use that exact same holder to this day and it still looks just as good. Learn how to make your own here!
When I started my blog I started on Blogger.com which is a free Google platform. It was a great starter, but I knew quickly after starting that I wanted much more for my blog so 2 months later I moved to a Self-Hosted WordPress. I really wanted to show you what my first blog design looked like but I have that website redirecting here if anyone ever went to it.
My 7th blog post was a Review and Swatches on the Naked 3 Palette. Remember how popular Urban Decay Naked palettes were? I feel like those came out an eternity ago and eye shadow palettes have gotten so much better since then.
Check out that post here!
My 17th blog post was How to Whiten Your Teeth at Home. This would have been a great post for 2020 since we did A LOT of at home self care am I right?! This post is still very relevant and still works great!
Check it out >> Whiten those teeth!Β (look at my little baby nails)
In my 70th post I talk about eye shadow shades that really compliment GREEN Eyes. I did a post like this for every eye color. These were really fun posts that I remember putting in a lot of work and research to make great.
If you have Green eyes check this out!
Moving on down the line… in my 107th post I did a show and tell of my Perfume Collection. This post was published 6 years ago and I’m just now finishing that Giorgio Armani Si perfume, that’s kind of crazy! I do love perfume, but I’m trying to actually use some of them up before I buy anything new. I’m kind of eyeing Juliette Has a Gun… have any of you used that?
See my oldish perfume collection here!
My 207th post was a collaboration and sponsorship with Dove. In this post I talked about all the benefits you get from using the Dove White Beauty Bar. That was a fun post with lots of information. I loved working with Dove on this!
See that here!
Lastly my 307th post was a post I did on Things I would Repurchase. I try so many beauty products that if I want to repurchase them that means I really liked them so that post has some of the best products in it.
See my 307th post here!
So there you have a little trip down memory lane through the last 7 years of my beauty blog. Some posts I barely remember and others stick out way more. Keeping a blog alive for 7 years has been a huge accomplishment in my life, I’ve made friends and money from it, I’ve learned so much about the ins and outs of a website and I’ve loved every second. Whatever your dream is GO FOR IT!!
Oh yea I totally almost forgot… I have a new blog design, you may have noticed by now, but out with the old and in with the new. It’s so much more me now. Blush and pretty font! Take a look around and check out some of the new features, like the Instagram feed on the bottom…
Anyways this is a long post, if you’ve made it this far congrats haha!
Thank you so much for all the love and support over the years! It means the WORLD!
