Hey hey hey! I hope you are having a great week! Today I want to tell you All About Jade Rollers. They are such a trend right now, I see them all over Instagram, but are they just a trend? What are they used for? Do they make a difference? Find all these answers plus more!
All About Jade Rollers
What is a Jade Roller?
The Jade Stone Roller is a facial massage tool that is a wonderful experience for your senses. It is known for its healing properties that relax the nervous system and aid in removing toxins.
Why Jade?
The natural rejuvenating properties of the jade stone is that of invigorating and circulating the blood and body’s natural energy. This beauty accessory was used by Empresses and ancient royal families in China for years in their quest for smooth, youthful facial skin tone.
Benefits.
It’s a technique that has been used for centuries in Chinese Medicine for facial rejuvenation for its ability to minimize the appearance of fine lines, reduce inflammation and puffiness around the eyes, in addition to improving lymphatic drainage (does it make anyone else think of Dry Brushing?, find out about that here) and restoring facial skin tone. It’s a natural cooling stone that not only brings a wonderful glow to the skin but also aids in easing sinus pain and headaches by circulating Qi, which serves as one’s vital energy and life force.
How to Use it.
- Start out by cleansing your face with your favorite cleanser (my favorite), pat dry
- Apply a face oil or serum to your face.
- I start on the right side of my face near the jaw line
- Roll the face with large side of the roller in an upward and back direction 3 times in each section.
- Massage your way through your whole face.
- Turn it over to the small side for delicate areas like around your eye, nose and upper lip.
- You are done
*if you are jade rolling for lymphatic drainage benefits, start at the nose and work your way out.
Another tip to help with de-puffing is to keep your jade roller in the refrigerator until you use it. Because Jade is a natural stone it stays cold all the time, but placing it in your frig will make it even more cold and get the puffiness to go down even faster. I don’t typically do this, because I like to keep all my skincare in the same room, but for special occasions or events, this is very easy and quick to do.
Where to Buy.
I have two Jade Rollers, the first one I bought came from Sephora and the second one came in my FabFitFun Box. You can find several different brands at Sephora and tons of options on Amazon, make sure you read all the info and reviews on Amazon, you don’t want to end up with fake Jade.
These range in price from $9.99 to $38.
Final Thoughts.
Do you have to have a Jade Roller? No. Are they trendy? Of course. They are a nice little extra tool to use. I enjoy the experience of using my jade roller, if I didn’t see one single benefit I would still enjoy using it. It is so relaxing to do right before bed, it’s cooling and it really is like a mini massage for your face. It also helps the product really sink into your skin. Typically, I notice the next morning after using my jade roller the night before that my face looks good, fresh, glowy and young looking. I notice it the most around my eyes, the skin is very smooth with no signs of aging. I would say if you have the extra money then totally get one, but it’s not a total must have item.
Do you have a Jade Roller? What are your thoughts?
Last beauty post here. I’ve Been Blogging for 5 YEARS post >> here!
I just started using the Jade Roller one week ago. My Jade Roller came with a Qua Sha tool as well. I use both tools 3x a week. I really do like how it feels and I do see a more refreshed feeling in my skin the next morning. I definitely will continue using it!
Oh that’s awesome! I’m not really familiar with a Qua Sha tool. What does it do?
I’m glad you are enjoying yours as much as I am! :)
I just saw one of these while shopping. I just might be the sign that I need to purchase one.
