Hey everyone!
I hope you had a great weekend and MLK Day! I don’t know if you remember last year around Spring/Summer I bought the Allure Beauty Box, see it here. Well Allure puts out these huge boxes (filled with all things beauty) like 3 or 4 times a year. Before the Holidays I got the Winter edition and it has some really great products in it. Keep reading to see what they are, and mini reviews of the products I’ve tried.
Allure Beauty Box | Winter 2014
What is the Allure Beauty Box?
It’s a HUGE box filled with tons of beauty items from makeup, skincare, hair, body…everything I love and I’m sure you do too if you are visiting a beauty blog. :) I’m still using my box from the Summer.
What’s really cool though is the proceeds from buying this box go to Melanoma Research which is a really great cause to be a part of.
Price:
The box is $54.99 without shipping, but values at over $250… why wouldn’t you want one of these. I will say though that this is SOLD OUT and has been since the day it went on sale. They only have a limited number of these in stock, and they normally sale out within minutes. This post isn’t to really talk about the box over and over, it’s to show you the products inside so you might want to pick them up when you are out beauty shopping next.
Let’s get this thing started...
I will list every product included in this box, but will only write about the ones I’ve tried.
HAIR.
1 // Not Your Mother’s Whip It Up Cream Styling Mousse:
2 // Style Sexy Hair H2No 3 Day Style Saver Dry Shampoo: I have used this many times now and I really like it, smells great, and dries invisible. More on dry shampoo here.
3 // John Freida Frizz Ease Nourishing Oil Elixir: This makes my hair really soft without being too heavy or greasy. It definitely takes away frizz too!
4 // Scunci Hair-Emergency Kit: Pictured above, I haven’t used this yet, but it is pretty much brilliant. Comes with hair ties in different sizes, bobby pins, an elastic head band and more all in one tiny bag. This will most definitely come in handy always.
5 // John Freida Colour Refreshing Gloss for Cool Brunettes: (Passing this on to a friend because I’m blonde)
6 // Splat Hair Chalk in Dusty Rose: I haven’t used the one that came in this box, but I used one on Halloween when I was Meghan Trainor, I love this for something different to do with your hair!
7 // Rusk Texture Spray
8 // John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Colour Protecting Moisturising Conditioner: (Again I’m giving this to a friend)
9 // Aloxxi Conditioning Detangler
BODY.
1 // SheaMoisture Superfruit Complex Body Lotion
2 // Jergens Natural Glow 3 Days to Glow Moisturizer: I’ve used this in the past and it works great!
3 // Cetaphil Intensive Moisturizing Cream
4 // Organic Doctor Organic Manuka Honey Hand & Nail Cream: At first this applies really thick and kind of greasy but it takes no time for it to sink into the skin leaving it hydrated but not greasy.
5 // DOVE White Beauty Bar: I’ve used this my whole life and I know for a fact it’s incredible.
6 // Curel Rough Skin Rescue Lotion
SKINCARE.
1 // Clean & Clear Morning Burst Hydrating Gel Moisturizer: This feels really nice and light on the skin, perfect for the day time.
2 // Biore Self Heating One Minute Mask: When they say self heating they mean it, this got pretty warm, which is totally different than any other mask I’ve used. I really enjoyed it though, it cleaned out my pores and made my face super soft.
3 // Organic Doctor Organic Virgin Coconut Oil Hydrating Radiance Elixir: This makes my skin feel really soft, and it smells great. I haven’t used it long enough to see actual results though.
4 // Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel: I am OBSESSED with this stuff. It is so cooling to the skin, really hydrating but not oily at all, and just makes my skin feel great. I love everything about this, from the consistency to the smell. It’s amazing!
5 // Burt’s Bees Cucumber & Sage Facial Cleansing Towelettes: I used these the second I got this box because I had just run out of the ones I was using. They worked, but I wouldn’t repurchase because I’m not a huge fan of the cucumber scent.
MAKEUP.
1 // Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Jungle Gem: (Yes I included nail polish in the makeup category)
2 // Physicians Formula Nude Wear Glowing Nude Blush in Rose: This is a really pretty blush, it’s a little on the lighter side than I typically go for, but I do like it. The packaging is pretty annoying, it’s just too chunky!
Teeth.
1 // Colgate Optic White Toothbrush + Built-in Whitening Pen: I’ve seen so many commercials for this so I was excited to try it. I’m used to an electric tooth brush so when I use this it kind of creeps me out, it just feels a lot different. But I do like the tooth brush. However, the whitening pen doesn’t work as well as I had hoped. You have to turn the bottom of it kind of like some lip glosses, and it doesn’t matter how many times you turn it, it just won’t come out. So maybe I got a bad one or something.
2 // Colgate Optic White Platinum Whiten & Protect Toothpaste
It also comes with this booklet, which becomes my best friend after I buy the box so I can keep referring to it, when I’m wanting to try a product.
Overall this box was really great, it has tons of products I either already love or new products I know I’ll love. You should totally check out some of the products mentioned above next time you are looking for something new. Most of these are really great for cold weather months, but can definitely be used all year long!
To be informed of when the next Allure box is going on sale LIKE my Facebook Page because I always try to let everyone know.
Do you want to buy the next box?
This seems like a great buy. I might have to check out the box next time its available.
Yea definitely check it out, the products will last you a long long time, I promise! :)
Treasure in a box. Great collection. :)
Haha you are exactly right, treasure in a box! :)
What a great box! I have the Colgate whitening pen and the clicker works for me so maybe you have a defective one! I love that toothpaste though!
Yea it does sound like I just got a defective one! I will keep trying tho, because it did work the first time I used it, and I really liked it. I can’t wait to try the toothpaste, it looks great. I didn’t want to open a new bottle until I was done with my current tho! :)
Wow, this box is incredible! I could get two of these a year and basically be set on everything I need. I can’t believe how much stuff comes in it. It’s great that you were happy with almost everything in it, too. Sometimes I am nervous about getting more expensive box subscriptions because it would seem like a waste if I didn’t like anything in it.
Haha I know right?! It’s crazy how much stuff comes in this box and it’s for such a good value. Yea I’m glad I really like the things in this box too, last time I got one I thought there were just too many hair products, and I don’t use a ton of hair things. Yea it is a little nervewracking buying a box that’s more expensive, but they do tell you everything that is in this before you buy it, and most of the brands I already knew of and knew they were good reputable products!!
That’s such fantastic value! And so many hair goodies, for some reason I don’t really try too many different hair products so this would be perfect for me hehe. The subscription boxes here in Australia don’t offer near as many products, having something like that available here would be an absolute treat!
I know!! I’m actually the same way, I don’t buy a lot of hair products because most the time I don’t know how to use them or I don’t want them to make my hair greasy. Yea this box is crazy big, and really affordable! I love it. Thanks for stopping by!
WOW!!! This looks absolutely brilliant! Will definitely have to check it out!!! Who doesn’t love a value like that?!
I know, it’s crazy how much stuff comes in these for such a great price. Like I said in the post I’m still using some of the stuff I got in the box from the Spring. They send so much stuff, it’s almost hard to use it all! :)
