My Beauty Story #ShareBeauty Contest
Thanks to Regency Beauty Institute for sponsoring today’s post, but all opinions are my own.
Today, I’m going to share with you my beauty story. Unlike a lot of girls I didn’t play with my moms makeup or dream of being a makeup artist while growing up (I’m still not a makeup artist). I wanted to be, you know your typical teacher, astronaut, flower shop owner, but never anything in the beauty industry. I can’t remember exactly when I started wearing makeup but it was probably around middle school when I started getting pretty bad acne. I never really felt comfortable playing with makeup until I got older and really started to branch out and buy eye shadows and hoard tons of lip glosses. I wore makeup all throughout high school, but I never really tried new things.
Skip several years down the road to one day when I randomly stumbled upon YouTube videos of girls talking to a camera about makeup and products they loved and tutorials of way more advanced eye makeup than I ever thought about wearing. These girls inspired me so much that I started buying the products they were talking about, and I started trying the makeup looks they did tutorials on. Pretty soon makeup and beauty became a true passion for me. I LOVE to research products and find the very best ones for my skin and budget. My friends and family could see I was really interested in beauty so many of them kept encouraging me to start a beauty blog. Me…a girl who just became interested in the whole beauty world several years ago should write a beauty blog? I thought everyone was crazy. After being told this for at least a year I decided why not? So here you are on my beauty blog, and hopefully I share things that help and inspire you in the beauty world!
Beauty has never been about fitting in for me. I wear makeup because it’s fun and can change your appearance from day to day. I never wear makeup because society tells me to or that you can only feel confident if you are wearing makeup. Makeup is a beautiful thing, but confidence is way more beautiful and comes from within. Who cares if your ugly, pretty, tall, short, fat, thin, black, asian, white, hispanic, have a big nose, weird feet etc. if you are confident in yourself you will radiate on the outside. Be confident and rock that bright red lipstick you’ve always wanted to try!
