How to Soothe a Sunburn Fast with This Easy DIY Remedy
Hey friends! I just got back from the beach feeling refreshed (with a little extra redness 🌞). If you’ve ever had a painful sunburn, you know how uncomfortable it can be. Today I’m sharing a quick and easy DIY sunburn remedy using simple ingredients you already have at home to soothe the pain and reduce redness fast. Keep reading to heal your sunburn naturally!
How to Soothe a Sunburn Fast with This Easy DIY Remedy
While I was at the beach, I actually got sunburned a few times, which is rare for me. I went with no base tan at all because I just hadn’t had the time, and every day was perfectly sunny with not a single cloud in the sky. Even though I reapplied SPF throughout the day, I still got a bit burned and needed to find some relief. I found this remedy on Pinterest, and while I didn’t come up with it myself, I knew I had to share it with you because it works so well!
What You Need for This DIY Sunburn Remedy:

- Coconut Oil ( I swear every DIY I do includes coconut oil… it’s just that good)
- Apple Cider Vinegar
- Wash Cloth
How to Use This DIY Sunburn Remedy (Step by Step)
1.Start with clean/dry skin

2 // Wet the wash cloth with cold water until it is completely damp.Â

3 // Pour some ACV onto the damp wash cloth.Â

4. Use the wash cloth to apply the ACV to the affected burn (make sure you are using a soft wash cloth or this could hurt).Â
5. Let it dry for just a couple of minutes.Â

6. Slather Coconut Oil all over the affected area and go to bed. This will heal and hydrate your skin overnight.Â
See how easy that was. And I promise you it works, it takes the pain away from the burn but also the redness. Plus the coconut oil really hydrates your skin giving you a nice I-just-went-to-the-beach-glow.
I hope this will come in handy for you if you get a sunburn anytime this Summer!

I got sunburnt for the first time this year yesterday!! I’ve been applying aloe like crazy, but maybe this will actually give me some relief. I’m not gonna sleep in it since I’m applying it within the next hour or so, would you recommend hanging out in loose clothes or leaving the burnt areas exposed? I live alone so a lack of clothing isn’t really a problem ?
TheBeautySection
I’m sorry you got burnt, but totally laughing at your last sentence!! So funny! So did it work for you?! Let me know! I sure hope so! :)

Does the ACV burn when you apply it? I have to remember this, I have always kept aloe vera here.
TheBeautySection
It has never burned me before, but I guess it just depends on how sensitive your skin is. Maybe try just doing it on a small patch of skin before rubbing it over your whole body just in case!

I’ve never tried coconut oil for sunburns! There really is nothing it can’t do. I got burnt a couple times early this year, so maybe my skin has adjusted for the Summer. I’ll definitely save this idea for the next time, though.
TheBeautySection
You definitely should. Hopefully neither one of us gets burnt anymore this year, but if it does happen you should really try this. It works better than I was really even expecting!!

I’ve never heard of this! As much as I try to be careful, I live at the beach and sometimes sunburns DO occur – whether it’s on an area where I forgot to apply sunscreen or if I didn’t apply enough. They’re SO uncomfortable and I’m always looking for a remedy…this is great!
TheBeautySection
Yea unfortunately even though we try to prevent sunburns they can still occur. Definitely try this if that happens to you any this summer!

Got my first sunburn of the year today and came across this post! Just lathered myself up! Hopefully I’ll wake up in the morning with a tan, or at least less painful arms! Lol

I’m hoping to avoid getting burnt this summer but my husband has already gotten a little pink! I have all of these ingredients so I’ll have to remember it for next time!
TheBeautySection
I was hoping to avoid it too, but for my whole family got burnt last week at the beach. Luckily mine wasn’t some deep painful burn like some people get. Definitely use this on your husband if he gets burnt again! :)
