DIY Sunburn Remedy

Hate the pain and redness of a sunburn? Check out this super easy DIY Sunburn Remedy using things you already have at home

Hey friends!

I am back from the beach and feeling refreshed and ready to bring you some great post this week! I’m sure we’ve all been sunburned a few times in our lives so today I wanted to show you a quick and easy DIY Sunburn Remedy using things you already have in your home. Keep reading to relieve your summer sunburn!

DIY Sunburn Remedy

While I was at the beach I actually got sunburned a few times, which never really happens for me. But I went to the beach with absolutely no tan at all because I just haven’t had the time, and everyday there wasn’t one cloud in the skin, and even though I applied SPF all throughout the day I still got a bit sunburned and had to find some relief.  This is something I found on Pinterest, not anything I came up with on my own. But hopefully it can still help you out!

What you need:

  • Coconut Oil ( I swear every DIY I do includes coconut oil… it’s just that good)
  • Apple Cider Vinegar
  • Wash Cloth

What To Do:

1 // Start with clean/dry skin

2 // Wet the wash cloth with cold water until it is completely damp.

3 // Pour some ACV onto the damp wash cloth.

4 // Use the wash cloth to apply the ACV to the affected burn ( make sure you are using a soft wash cloth or this could hurt you).

5 // Let it dry for just a couple of minutes.

6 // Slather Coconut Oil all over the affected area and go to bed. This will heal and hydrate your skin overnight.

See how easy that was. And I promise you it works, it takes the pain away from the burn but also the redness. Plus the coconut oil really hydrates your skin giving you a nice I-just-went-to-the-beach-glow.

I hope this will come in handy for you if you get a sunburn anytime this Summer!

I got sunburnt for the first time this year yesterday!! I’ve been applying aloe like crazy, but maybe this will actually give me some relief. I’m not gonna sleep in it since I’m applying it within the next hour or so, would you recommend hanging out in loose clothes or leaving the burnt areas exposed? I live alone so a lack of clothing isn’t really a problem ?

Does the ACV burn when you apply it? I have to remember this, I have always kept aloe vera here.

It has never burned me before, but I guess it just depends on how sensitive your skin is. Maybe try just doing it on a small patch of skin before rubbing it over your whole body just in case!

I’ve never tried coconut oil for sunburns! There really is nothing it can’t do. I got burnt a couple times early this year, so maybe my skin has adjusted for the Summer. I’ll definitely save this idea for the next time, though.

You definitely should. Hopefully neither one of us gets burnt anymore this year, but if it does happen you should really try this. It works better than I was really even expecting!!

I’ve never heard of this! As much as I try to be careful, I live at the beach and sometimes sunburns DO occur – whether it’s on an area where I forgot to apply sunscreen or if I didn’t apply enough. They’re SO uncomfortable and I’m always looking for a remedy…this is great!

Yea unfortunately even though we try to prevent sunburns they can still occur. Definitely try this if that happens to you any this summer!

Got my first sunburn of the year today and came across this post! Just lathered myself up! Hopefully I’ll wake up in the morning with a tan, or at least less painful arms! Lol

I’m hoping to avoid getting burnt this summer but my husband has already gotten a little pink! I have all of these ingredients so I’ll have to remember it for next time!

I was hoping to avoid it too, but for my whole family got burnt last week at the beach. Luckily mine wasn’t some deep painful burn like some people get. Definitely use this on your husband if he gets burnt again! :)
