Drugstore Beauty Haul

Happy Monday!!

Hope you had a really great weekend!  Since I reorganized my makeup (check that post out here) I have been wanting to buy some new drugstore products that I’ve never tried before.  I’ve definitely found some really great things recently.   So keep reading to find out the things I’ve bought along with mini reviews.

Drugstore Beauty Haul

This is going to be kind of long because there are several products to talk about so bare with me, I will try to make it as short and sweet as I can. :)

1 // NYX Blotting Powder in Deep: I saw this so many times in Ulta and never picked it up until recently and I really like it.  It is great to use to set your makeup for the day, but also for touch up later when you are wanting to blot away any oil.  The one thing I will say about this though is the color selection in the store was very light/fair shades and I had to pick the darkest shade, but once I got home it looked almost too dark.  Darn fluorescent lights.  It still works because I’m tan now, but I’ll have to buy a lighter color next time.  | $11.99 at Ulta.

2 // ELF Mineral Face Primer: I was out of primer and have heard good things about this one so I picked it up.  I really like it.  It is a clear silicone gel type of primer.  I think it makes my makeup look pretty flawless for the first few hours after application.  It fills in fine lines and wrinkles giving them a blurred effect. Really nice for such a cheap price.  | $6.00

3 //  NYX Baked Eye shadow in Smoke and Mirrors: I thought this color was really pretty, but it does not blend well at all. It’s super chalky and very dry.  I swatched it on my finger and the swatch looks great, but if you apply that to your eye it looses pigmentation and it’s hard to build it up.  Even with my best eye brushes this hardly budges.  Maybe I just got a faulty one.  On another note this is almost an exact dupe for Gunmetal by Urban Decay, but Gunmetal is amazing, this… not so much :/  |  $5.99

4 //  Jordana Fabuliner Liquid Liner in Black: Oh my goodness this liquid eye liner is a MUST have.  This is the second time I’ve bought this liner and it is AMAZING!  As you can tell in the swatch above it is super pigmented and very black.  It is so easy to use and lasts on the eyes ALL DAY LONG.  It also lasts in the tube almost 2 years, or for me it did.  Give this a try, you won’t be disappointed. I think you can just find this at Walgreen’s or online here.  | You won’t believe your eyes… $1.99… yup I said it! Now you definitely have no reason why you shouldn’t try this. :)

5 //  NYX Primal Colors Eye Shadow in Hot Pink: I’m in LOVE with this Hot Pink eye shadow.  If you’ve been to Ulta recently and looked in the NYX section these eye shadows will really jump out at you.  They are like the name PRIME colors and really bright and pigmented (they do have a black).  Now this color may not be for everyone, but I think it’s really fun for summer all over the lid blended out to perfection, or as a liner for something more subtle and work appropriate.  Plus this can double as a blush if you are in a pickle.  | $4.99

6 //  ELF Flawless Concealer Brush:  This is a really nice and affordable brush to use for concealer.  Not too much to say about it other than it works great and it’s a simple brush to use.  |  $3.04

7 //  ELF HD Under eye Setting Powder:  I have been wanting an under eye setting powder for a while and when I saw this one I thought I would give it a try.  It’s a super soft powder with light reflecting particles in it to make your under eye area brighter.   I’ve heard some people don’t like this because of the glitter in it, but once applied with the brush mentioned above all the glitter is moved around and you really can’t see it anymore.  That glitter is what makes it brighter though.  This powder doesn’t settle into lines under your eyes, it keeps them soft without being cakey.  Great product.  |  $3.04

So this is what I’ve recently picked up at the drugstore.  I know it seems like a lot of NYX and ELF (I’m not sponsored), but I’ve really been wanting to try more and more of their products because for the most part I’m always impressed with the quality.

I hope you try some of these soon. If you do let me know in the comments, or any social media outlet up above.

What are some great things you’ve picked up from the drugstore recently?
