Hey, everyone! I know, I know, I know… it has been a really long time since I have posted on here. I am so sorry. It’s weird to be gone so long, but I will be honest with you I lost my motivation to post. I got busy with work and other things that blogging became less and less a priority and passion for me. But I so long for that passion to come back, and it will, slowly but surely. I was motivated to do this post today, on all the Empties I’ve been collecting. During my 2 months of not doing a blog post… I used a lot of products up. Keep reading to see my Empties & Reviews.
Empties & Reviews
These posts are kind of interesting to me because it’s basically like you are holding on to your trash to show to everyone. But I do enjoy reading/watching these because a lot of times we do reviews based on using a product for a couple weeks or a month. When we actually use a product up in its entirety our opinion could change a few times throughout. So let’s see how I feel about these products after using them all up! Empties & Reviews, here we go!
Aveda Color Conserve Shampoo I go to an Aveda salon to get my hair done and I always love the products used on me. First of all, I walk away with the softest, shiniest hair, not to mention how amazing Aveda stuff smells (if you know the smell, you know what I mean). I bought this shampoo for its namesake… to conserve my hair color. I liked it at first, but I ended up feeling like it was a bit too moisturizing for my hair type. With my scalp being pretty oily, I didn’t need as much moisture as this was providing.
Would I repurchase? Right now no, maybe later on in life, I would give it another try.
Christophe Robin Regenerating Hair Mask with Prickly Pear Seed Oil: I received this in a Sephora Play Box, so it isn’t a full-size product, but I did get a lot of uses out of this little jar. The smell is a little intense and something to get used to, but the product is amazing. I love how soft it made my hair. I actually felt like this mask was doing something to repair my hair, not just sitting on top.
Would I repurchase? At the full price of $71, no I wouldn’t. I think there are many other hair masks that can do the same thing, for a much smaller price tag. If it was around $20-$30, yes I would repurchase.
Tree Hut Shea Sugar Scrub in Moroccan Rose: Oh my goodness! I was obsessed with this with the first use and I was still obsessed with it with the very last drop. I’ve posted about this several times before but it’s so good. After you read this post, get in your car and go online and get this scrub for yourself. You will be thanking me later. It smells absolutely divine. I would definitely say one of my top favorite scents of all time (and that is saying a lot). Past the scent the scrub is so good, it’s really abrasive so if you want to remove dead skin or fake tan :) this is meant for you! I love it so much!
Would I repurchase? Yes, yes and yes. And I have twice already. I have a brand new one in my shower as we speak!
Murad Oil Control Mattifier with SPF 15: I have bought 2 tubes of this stuff. It is meant to be a moisturizer for us oily girls, so it doesn’t make your skin oily but it is still giving your skin a nice drink. It’s great for wearing under makeup… plus it has SPF. I really enjoy using this moisturizer, but I have figured out my skin doesn’t need something to be completely matte all the time, other moisturizers work just as well.
Would I repurchase? Not right now, but eventually probably so. As I’m typing this though I feel like I could have used it today. It is 4:10pm and my face is pretty oily from the hot summer heat. But for now, I’m just going to skip on this.
MAC Prep + Prime 24-Hour Extend Eye Base: After using Urban Decay’s Primer Potion for 100 years, I finally tried something new. I really enjoyed using this primer, a little goes a long way. Once it is on it becomes a little sticky, which works great to keep your eyeshadow in place. I cannot stand when you take so much time to do your eyeshadow and within an hour it’s all tucked away and hiding in your crease… really eyeshadow? That’s not where you are meant to live. I feel like this works great though!
Would I repurchase? Yes, but I didn’t. I don’t order from MAC all that much and the closest one to me isn’t all that close, so I purchased a different eyeshadow primer online at Sephora. But I would repurchase this if I was at a MAC counter and needed it. :)
Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer: I had heard about this primer forever and I just never thought it would work with my oily skin. I ended up breaking down and buying it in the winter time. I fell in love with it. My foundation looked flawless and it held up throughout the day without me looking super oily or cakey. It is one of the smoothest primers I’ve ever felt. I think this would be great for literally any skin type.
Would I repurchase? Definitely! Especially in the Fall/Winter when my skin doesn’t produce as much oil anyways.
Lancome Tient Idole Ultra 24 Hour Foundation: I absolutely love this foundation! I feel like it looks great on the skin, it doesn’t just sit on top looking cakey. It can be full coverage but it has to be built up to that, which works for me because sometimes I don’t want a full coverage so I enjoy having that control. This lasts on my skin really well throughout the day.
Would I repurchase? Yes, I am on my third bottle right now. That says something because I love trying a new foundation.
So that is all of the empties I’ve had lately. Thank you so much for stopping by today. If you are a long time reader here on my blog, thank you for being patient with me while I’ve been absent these last few months. I hope this post is a jumpstart to me coming back slowly but surely! You guys are amazing and I have missed you so much!
I hope you have an amazing day! You are so beautiful, and I sure hope that you know that!

I’m taking a hiatus from my blog, too. I feel the same…just busy and haven’t felt up to it. Sometimes we just need a break. Good for you for taking one. I go to an Aveda salon, too – and love their stuff, too!
Yea it’s good to take breaks from time to time. I don’t want to get completely burnt out of blogging, so taking a break was a must! Doesn’t Aveda just smell so good?! I love it so much!!
