Hey friends!
Today I am doing something a little bit different. You are coming with me as I get ready for a special event. Okay I’m not really going anywhere right now, but when I am going somewhere special or doing something special I love to pamper myself first and really just take that time so you can feel and look your best. So whether you are going on a hot date this weekend for Valentine’s Day, going out for a girls night, or you have a job interview soon. Follow along and your skin, hair, and body will thank you for it.
Get Ready With Me: Special Event
So like I said I like to just take time out of my busy schedule and pamper myself before a special event. You can do this the night before the event, or the day of depending on the amount of time you have. You maybe thinking…I’ve got kids I don’t have time for this, but you deserve time for this, so ask your husband or someone to watch the kiddos for a while. It’s totally worth it I promise.
So come and get ready with me…

Lighting a subtle smelling candle is always essential when trying to relax and pamper yourself. It just fills the room with a really nice aroma. Here I am using the Baltic Black Pearl candle from Bath and Body Works.
I always start my “pamper parties” off with washing my face. Use your favorite cleanser that you know works great with your skin. I love anything that is going to unclog my pores, so I use the Biore Deep Poor Charcoal Cleanser.
After my face is clean, I do a face mask. Face Mask are one of those things you can do and you can actually see results pretty quickly. I have a whole arsenal of face mask I use for different needs, but here again I’m going with the “unclogging pores” theme and using my beloved GlamGlow SuperMud Clearing Mask (much cheaper from Amazon)…full review on this here.

Slather on some lip balm to deeply moisturize your lips while your face mask is working. My favorite luxurious one is the Christian Dior Creme De Rose Lip Balm, see a dupe here.
While my face mask is starting to dry I pick out a bath bomb from Lush and drop it into a bath filled with hot water. Bath bombs are amazing because they make your skin feel super soft, the bath water changes all different colors, plus it’s just a fun bath time luxury. But if you don’t have a Lush nearby you can use any bath salts or bubble bath you have.
Now I will get into the bath and turn on some soft music, lay back, and relax.
Since I haven’t managed washing my hair in the bathtub, I move onto the shower when I’m done with the bath. In the shower… I wash my hair like normal then do a hair mask, you could also do this hair treatment I made here. I have been using the Blondeshell Keratin Complex because it helps my blonde hair stay nice and fresh, but you can use any one you want. Some of my favorites are Macadamia Natural Oil Deep Repair Masque and Aussie 3-Minute Miracle.
I leave this on in the shower for a few minutes while I’m washing my body and shaving my legs. After I shave my legs I always use a body scrub all over my body. My absolute favorite one is Soap and Glory’s Breakfast Scrub… it smells amazing, like I’ve almost thought about eating this :)
After I’m finished with my shower, I get out and put body butter all over my body to lock in the moisture from the shower, keeping my skin smooth all day, but not greasy. My favorite body butter of all time is Soap and Glory’s The Righteous Butter…please try this, you won’t be disappointed.
After I have applied my body butter I am pretty much done pampering myself. Go ahead and apply your favorite moisturizer to balance out the skin since you did just do a mask. If you do this whole routine at night, I suggest using a “sleeping facial”. These are amazing, they are heavier moisturizer that really work over time while you are sleeping. My favorite one is Korres Vitamin C Rose Sleeping Facial. (It smells amazing)
Some other things that I forgot to take pictures of (oops) is whiten my teeth. Anytime I have a special event I’m going to I want my teeth to look the best they can. You can use my super simple “At home Teeth Whitening” or use the 3D Crest White Strips.
So that is what I do to get ready for a special event. This may seem like a lot to you, but you totally owe it to yourself to just take some time and really relax and make your skin and hair feel and look great.
Do you pamper yourself from time to time? What is your favorite thing to do?

This sounds wonderful! I need to purchase some of these items.
Is it work still now??
Those last two look amazing! I need a good body scrub bad! I sell Mary Kay so my face is pretty well taken care of but they’ve yet to come out with a body line!
Oh yea you gotta try them! I don’t know if you’ve ever used Soap and Glory before but everything they have for your body is simply amazing!!! :) :)
I loved this post. I never pamper myself bit mpw I know all the products I need to use. Thanks and take care spellbev.com
Thank you so much! You should definitely take time and pamper yourself sometime! You will love it! :)
What a great article-and how relaxing that sounds. I have SO much Bath and Body Works stuff–I have avoided the store for a while, But that candle look sweet. I was looking at the new Sprinf lines to day at Yankee Candle-so tempting!
I love Soap and Glory’s products-the yare company that is owned and operated by Sephora themselves. The Righteous Butter is yo die for! Such a nice scent and so good in Winter when the weather plays havoc on skin.
The Glam Glow I have used as well-but the other I have not, They seem so nice. But I have used other bath bombs before.
i do love pampering myself-it’s my own little treat to me. Soft bubble baths-with two candles lit and soft music playing as the lights are dimmed in the room–so nice. I do a face routine twice a day–as a lot of ladies do- wash, serum (Smart by Clinique is awesome) . A Lancome moisturizer with either Bienfait Multi Vital or Renergie.
I try to do a paper mask weekly. But it varies where i get them. But they have to match what my skin needs. Rose is very good for my skin-but so is ginger.
Since you like Soap and Glory you may want to try Heel Genius. I am on my second tube of it-It IS that good!
Thank you!! Haha I know exactly what that is like to avoid a store just so you aren’t tempted to buy something in there…it’s a real problem! :)
Soap and Glory have the best smelling products around. I had no idea they were owned by Sephora…that’s awesome! The Righteous Butter is definitely one of my all time favorite things from them! It’s incredible!
Yea I think other companies make similar bath bombs too, but nothing beats Lush!
I have paper (sheet) masks, they work really well and they are so much less messy than a traditional mask. That reminds me that I need to pick up more of those soon!
And I will definitely try Heel Genius, I’ve seen it and heard great things about it, but now I’m really curious! :) Thanks so much for stopping by!!
This was really fun to read! I always enjoyed watching Get Ready with Me videos on YouTube and have thought about doing them for my blog…but never could figure how that would work. But it worked great for you! Please do more of these!! :-)
Thank you so much girl! I love watching those videos too, that’s what inspired me to do this! Thank you for thinking it turned out well. I will definitely do more of these in the future! :)
This sounds so relaxing! I need to invest in some of these products. That candle sounds incredible!
It is so relaxing!! Yes you do, it’s totally worth it, and they last a while because you are’t using them every day! That candle…oh man! It’s good! I’m actually kind of sad to see how low it is :(
Awww that was so super sweet and that bath bomb looked really yummy! Your skin was probably glowing after all that pampering!
Thank you Sissi!! Yea bath bombs are so yummy! Have you tried one? My skin was definitely loving me after all this! :)
