Hey friends!
I hope you are doing fantastic! Today I am reviewing a loose powder by the luxury brand Givenchy. Keep reading to see if this product is worth the hefty price tag.
Givenchy Loose Matte Powder
Givenchy is a very high-end luxury brand that to be honest I typically stay away from, not because the products aren’t amazing, but because they are so expensive that I usually tell myself there is something just as good, but cheaper. When I heard about this powder several times I knew I had to just bite the bullet and try it. So here is what I think…
What it is:
A universal, transparent loose finishing powder for the face that imparts radiant complexion throughout the day.
What it Does:
Featherlike, superfine, and comfortable powder applies completely sheer, and gives skin an even, matte, and naturally radiant complexion. Apply it over makeup to extend wear, or for complete simplicity, apply it over bare or primed skin.
Price & Where to Buy:
This is $53 and can be found at Sephora, and select department stores that sell Givenchy cosmetics.
Packaging:
I think the packaging is very chic, simplistic, and beautiful. It makes a statement and looks expensive. The Givenchy logo is embossed into the lid of the power in silver and also in the sifter. The little touches are super classy and I love just sitting this powder out on my vanity.
How I use it:
I apply it all over my face using a Real Techniques powder brush. You can also bake with this ( I am doing a full post on baking soon if you don’t know what I’m talking about). A little powder goes a long way.
Final Thoughts:
I’m absolutely in LOVE with this powder. It is stunning, smooth, beautiful, flawless. It makes my skin look amazing. My pores disappear when I use this. As far as oil control goes, it does keep my oil away for quiet a few hours, but unfortunately I’m so oily that it does start to seep through. This powder looks amazing in pictures but just as great in person. It is so finely milled that it feels like silk. Can you tell how much I love it? It does have a Givenchy perfume smell which I absolutely love.
This powder makes a great gift for someone who loves makeup but maybe doesn’t ever spend the extra money on something really nice and luxurious. Or it’s perfect for your mom who deserves a really nice gift, but she has everything.
Is it worth the price? In my opinion, absolutely. I would repurchase this powder many times over and over. If you are someone who struggles with your makeup looking smooth or filling in pores and you want to splurge I would definitely recommend this to you. If you are someone that doesn’t really need to use powder to set your makeup, I would find something cheaper. But for me, I love it!
Would you spend $53 on a powder?
Which one is better for mattifying Laura Mercier or this Givenchy ? Please answer
Honestly the Givenchy one is better for mattifying, but I reach for the Laura Mercier powder more because it is quicker to apply and is less expensive. Hope this helps!
Oneday, I’ll splurge on this powder. I think I’ll take baby steps to get there, tho, as I want to try the IT Cosmetics powder, Laura Mercier one, and the NARS. Yes, my wish list is rather long…. :-P
Yes I would definitely suggest splurging on this or the Laura Mercier one… haven’t tried the others yet! My wish list doesn’t stay a wish list for too long… I get antsy or impatient and just have to buy whatever it is… it’s bad!
I am always looking for a great powder as I have oily skin! Definitely need to take a look at this next time I go to Sephora!

You should definitely try this one for your oily skin! I think you will really like it!
I’m with you on usually looking for a cheaper, just as good brand. But some things are just worth the price, and it sounds like this is one of those things!
Yea you are right… some brands are just worth the splurge and others you can find similar products!
