Hey friends! I hope you have had the best week! Today I’m talking about the Good Apple Foundation that went completely viral on TikTok, so viral it was hard to get my hands on it for quite a while. Keep reading to see if it’s worth the hype.
Good Apple Foundation Review
I’ll be honest, the pictures of this foundation aren’t the best (why I picked a stock photo for my main image), but I’ve hit pan and you can see where my sponge has been. But you can tell I’ve actually used this before giving it a review :)
What it is.
A buildable, full-coverage, hydrating foundation balm with a lightweight, long-wear formula and a fresh matte finish.
Packaging.
It comes in a thick clear plastic compact with some intricate details on the side. The packaging fits .35oz of foundation, typical liquid foundation in a bottle is 1oz. For the price the packaging isn’t great and you don’t get enough product.
Price & Where to Buy.
This foundation is $40.50 and now that the hype has died down you can find it at Ulta and Sephora.
What made it go viral.
Just like anything else, if people start talking about it and it gains more popularity, more people will be curious about it and then it goes viral. I saw it on TikTok and the girls would apply one swipe of this foundation and it looked flawless. Coverage for days, smooth, applies well, beautiful finish. Of course something like that will go viral, who doesn’t want a foundation like that?!
Is it Worth the Hype?
For me personally, no it isn’t worth the hype. But I guess it really depends on your skin type. I have combo skin leaning more on the oily side. What we don’t see from the TikTok videos is a wear test, how long does this foundation lasts? Does it get oily, melt down, break up? We don’t see those things so I had to see for myself.
For me and my skin, it isn’t long lasting enough. I feel like it almost starts to slip off my face after lunch then it just gets worse after that. One thing that really bothered me about this foundation is when I went to blot my face, A LOT of foundation came off. That has never really happened before, when you blot the oil should come off, not the makeup. But I was left with a lot of makeup where I blotted and my face looking terrible.
Also, I hit pan on this the SECOND time I wore it… huh?! That’s way too soon, and it wasn’t like I was caking on tons of foundation, I used my regular amount that I felt comfortable with.
I don’t want to just completely dog this foundation, it says in the title hydrating balm, those words aren’t usually an oily girls BFF. But if you have dry to normal skin you may love this.
The coverage is good, not great, it takes a while to get it to where you want it.
Overall this foundation just isn’t for me and the type of skin I have.
Have you tried this?! What did you think?
