Hey friends!!
I hope you are doing fantastic today!! I don’t know about you but I love shopping for clothes online, but do you shop online for makeup? Sometimes it can be tricky to find the perfect shade or product, when shopping online, so today I’m giving you a Guide To: Online Beauty Shopping and tips and tricks on how to save money while doing it. Keep reading to find out the goodies!
Guide To: Online Beauty Shopping
Affiliate links were used in this post, at no additional cost to you you are supporting this blog!
First things first, you absolutely need to create an account on E-bates if you don’t already have one.
E-bates is a website that pays members cash back every time they shop online (any store, not just beauty). By logging onto E-bates first then searching for the store you want to shop at you activate cash back, and now even better E-bates has an extension that can be added to your browser so any online store you go to cash back will already be activated. It’s so easy. There is no reason you shouldn’t sign up. Plus they actually send you CHECKS in the mail, no gift cards.
For great beauty deals I check Hautelook pretty much everyday! They always have really great discounts on makeup, skincare, hair care and tools, and nail polish. It’s one of my go-to websites/apps.
Another great website for beauty shopping that not a lot of people are talking about is LoxaBeauty, they carry so many brands all in one place, but that isn’t the cool thing… LoxaBeauty is a site that really supports stylists. So if you have a question about a product for your skin type, or what kind of hairspray to use in a humid climate you can ask a stylist, and they get commission based on your purchases. I think it’s just the coolest site! (Really great for hair products).
If you are on the hunt for foundation and don’t know what color to pick, before shopping online I suggest you go to your Sephora and they will give you a Color IQ test that literally takes 5 minutes. Once the test is complete you will be given an IQ number, that number is what you will use anytime you shop online to pull up your perfect foundation shade. Doing this will always assure that your face and neck match. (They also do Skincare IQ Test as well that will determine your problem areas and the solution to them)… technology nowadays is just crazy cool! Sample selection at check out also makes Sephora a cool place to shop!
Last but certainly not least is the Ulta App. Of course I love shopping on their website too, but they just redid the app and it is so good, and so easy to use. You can see how many rewards points you have, search any product in their inventory and read reviews, get your $3.50 off coupon right in the app (I don’t have the excuse of “Oh I didn’t know I was coming here today, do you have a coupon?), and scan items with the barcode feature taking you straight to the product for more info and review. It’s a really well done app.

So these are the websites and tools I use for Online Beauty Shopping. I know every beauty product can’t be bought online, but I hope these tips can help you next time you are wanting to buy some beauty goodies from the comfort of your own home. Shopping online is also really great if you already know you love the product, you can just repurchase it online while wearing your favorite jammies, plus remember you can save money and get cash back at almost every store. I hope this post was helpful to you!

Whoa now, I did NOT realize that EBates pays you no matter where you’re online shopping! I’m signing up immediately. Love sites like that! Qmee does something similar, so check them out if you’d like, too. (:
cominguprosestheblog.com
Yea Ebates is awesome!!! There are some smaller sites that aren’t compatible with Ebates but most sites do work!! Definitely check them out! :)
What a useful post! I knew about e-bates and haute look but not the others. Thanks for sharing.

Absolutely, hope you can use them!! :)
These are great tips, Anna! So far I haven’t bought many beauty products online. Mostly I just order products I already use from Ulta if they have a better deal online. You are right about Ebates, I just love them! It’s saved me so much money.
Thank you so much Jenna! Yea I usually just re-order things too, but hopefully this will help if you want to order something new!! And yes Ebates is just the bomb.com! :)
all great ones. didn’t know that about the scanner on the ulta app!
Yea girl you should definitely try it out!! :)
Since I live in a small town, I depend mainly on online stores to buy makeup and skincare. I find that Nordstrom has great service and a wonderful return policy with free shipping both ways. I’ve also used dermstore.com a few times because every few months they will send out an email with 20% off of your purchase plus free shipping – and they’re owned by the Target company. I have never heard of Loxabeauty, but will definitely check it out!
Oh that is awesome about Nordstrom, I have never bought any beauty products from their website, I typically just shop their in person. Great to know though! Yes dermstore is great, for some reason I always forget about it tho :/ and I had NO idea they were owned by Target, that’s so cool! Learn something new everyday! Definitely check out Loxabeauty! :)
I’m always stopping into Ulta or Sephora to test out products, but when it comes time to actually buy…9 times out of 10 I wait to buy it online. Mostly because of Ebates. What is not to like about that site? You’re going to still spend the money anyway, but at least Ebates gives you some of it back. I love it!
I am liking the new Ulta app, too! I tell you, that was always so annoying to me whenever I was in Ulta, saw a product, and wanted to learn more about it. It would be so hard to find on their app! Now I can just scan it and see everything there is to know. And if it’s on sale :-) Definitely a frequently used app on my phone :-)
You are exactly right… what is not to like about Ebates, especially now with the extension you can get on your browser, there is like no extra effort needed. Yes the new Ulta app is so great, I was the exact same way, just standing in an aisle in Ulta looking up some product I wanted to know more info about, this app makes it so much easier now! :)
Great ideas! Thanks for the tips! I’ve often wanted to buy online, but have been reluctant to do so. This makes the idea a little easier to swallow.
Thank you! Yea hopefully these tips will help you when you want to buy makeup online next time. There are just those times that you just don’t want to go to a store! :)
