Hey!
I hope you are doing great! I took a little bit of a blogging break and now I am fully recharged and ready to go! Today I am doing something a little different on my blog, I’m doing a book review. Keep reading to see what I think about “Hairstyled” by Anne Thoumieux.
“Hairstyled” Book Review
As you can see the book is very visually appealing. Just from taking a look at the front alone, I can see there are up-dos, braids, and styles for curly hair. I couldn’t wait to crack this book open because to be honest I don’t have a whole lot I can do with my hair. I can curl it, or straighten, sometimes do a small braid at my bangs but I’m really just not that cordinated to do all these fancy schmancy braids, even though I wish I was. So I was excited to try and learn.
Inside.
Inside the book is filled with really great pictures of real people. Each hairstyle has a name, difficulty level, tips, and step by step. I did try a few of these, and it is going to take me more practice to get some of these down. Not because they are too hard or the instructions aren’t easy to follow, but like I said I’m just hair challenged haha!
Now I’ll be honest, this picture is from before I even had the book, but this is one of the easiest hairstyles to do.
Price and Where to Buy:
This book is hardback for $19.99 on Amazon.
Final Thoughts:
I think this book is laid out really great, it’s easy to follow, and it really does have some great hair tutorials in that the average person can do. I think if you can follow written words over a video of how to do the hairstyle then you will love this. My only negative about the whole book, is I wish you could see the “model” actually doing the hairstyles on herself rather than someone doing them on her. Because most of us unfortunately just don’t have someone that can do our hair everyday, even though that would be amazing. I think this book is a winner for anyone interested in learning new hairstyles.
What I took away from this book was getting inspired to try and do new things with my hair. For example, I’ve seen a fishtail braid so many times, and I’ve honestly never even had the desire to try it, until this book ended up in my possession. I tried it the other day… it needs some practice but hey I tried. I love being inspired all over again to try something, even if it is just as simple as a new hairstyle.
I received this book from the Blogging for Books program in exchange for this review, but all opinions are 100% my own.
Do you like tutorials where you can read them or watch a video?
