Lip Scrub Throwdown

Lip Scrub Throwdown

Hey girls!!

What do you have planned for the weekend?

If you have been with me for a while you know I like to do throwdowns…friendly competition between two or more products, one being more expensive and one being very affordable. So today I have a Lip Scrub Throwdown that you don’t want to miss. Keep those pretty eyes on the screen.

As you can tell in the pictures I have not tried every lip scrub out there, I have tried 2 well actually 3 but that one was so bad it remains unnamed. So this throwdown is just between these two lip scrubs, I’m sure there are way better lip scrubs out in the beauty world, but I don’t own those so I’m not going to talk about those.

On with the competition.

Lip Scrub Throwdown

Lush’s Bubblegum Lip Scrub: Let me tell you this is a really great lip scrub. It is all natural and very edible as well (it tastes delish). It is handmade which I really love. Lush Lip Scrubs come in several different flavors, but I’ve only tried Bubblegum, I like the sweetness of it. This is a pretty abrasive scrub, which is really great for the colder months when you may have really dry lips. Use this before going to bed and put on your favorite lip balm and you will have the softest lips the next day. | $9.95

ELF’s Exfoliating Lip Scrub: I found out about this lip scrub through Pinterest, and when I saw the price I went to Target the next day and bought it. I absolutely love that this comes in a lipstick tube. No messy sugar falling out of a pot and getting everywhere. This is literally a solid stick with sugar granules in it. Pure genius. This is absolutely perfect for your purse or desk at work and for on the go exfoliation. It only comes in one scent and to me it smells kind of like brown sugar and butter, which is a pretty good scent to me. It isn’t as abrasive as Lush’s and the first time you use it it takes a few swipes on the lips to actually get to the scrubby part. | $3.00

Winner:

Honestly this one was really hard! They are both super great products, but it just depends on your lifestyle. If you want to exfoliate your lips in a hurry with no mess then ELF takes the cake. If you want to get a deep abrasive scrub Lush is your girl. For me personally I think I’m going to give it to Lush because of how good of a job it does. ELF was a really really close match tho, and honestly I have been reaching for it more lately. Β I will probably just buy both of them, because sometimes a girl has to exfoliate those lips in the car. :)

Do you use Lip Scrubs? What is your favorite brand?

Really enjoyed your post, I recently started using some e.l.f. brushes and they’ve been working really well. Might go try the lip scrub!

I haven’t tried either of these but I’d probably lean toward the Lush because of their all-natural ingredients.

Yea I love that all Lush products are that way! You can literally eat this if you wanted to, and I’ve licked it off my lips before and let me tell you this flavor tastes so good!! Haha!

You are so talented, you make so many things on your own! I just make a few because I’m too lazy most of the time and just buy it haha! But you do save so much more money by making it yourself! I will definitely check yours out for sure! :)

For some reason my lips have been getting dry and chapped more lately, so I have been wanting a lip scrub! I’m so glad you wrote about them. The E.L.F. one sounds amazing because it doesn’t cost much and you can use it on the go. Thanks Anna!

Absolutely!! I think you will really like it! I love using a lip scrub before bed and before applying lipstick since I wear a ton of matte lipsticks which can be super drying, I don’t like my lips to look dry, so those work perfectly! :)

I have both of these as well and I have to say I prefer the ELF because I actually use it! The Lush one works great but I find it such a fuss to use so it hardly ever comes out of the cupboard. I love the convenience and mess-less-ness of the ELF scrub!

Yea those were so close, but I just went by how effective the scrub is and I prefer Lush. You are right tho it is a lot more of a fuss and I do tend to gravitate more towards ELF because of how easy it is to use!

I’ve never used a lip scrub… I always just use a dry washcloth and gently exfoliate that way!
