My Top 5 Red Lipsticks

Hey everyone!

Can you believe Christmas is literally right around the corner?! You know you can’t go to a holiday party or without red lipstick as your date so today I am going to show you my Top 5 Red Lipsticks, so keep reading!

My Top 5 Red Lipsticks

This post is a collab with my friend Katie- From My Vanity… she is a beauty blogger as well, so please check her out!!

My Top 5 Red Lipsticks

Red lipstick is so classy, you can throw on your favorite red lipstick for a glam girls night out, or with your favorite pair of jeans with the holes in them and converse. Red lips are just a beautiful staple. Especially for Christmas. Since i

Learn what Red Lipstick goes with your Skin Tone here.

Let’s get started.

In no particular order…

1 // Maybelline Neon Red: Now this is definitely on the orangey red side so this is perfect for the summer months… but really for anyone who doesn’t want to go all the way red. Dab this color on with your finger and you will get a light wash of orangey red, so flattering. I would definitely wear this to a Christmas luncheon, Staff Christmas Party, or Tacky Sweater Party.

2 // MAC Ruby Woo: This is probably the most classic red I have. It’s gorgeous with its rich velvety pigment. This is a matte finish and to be honest the driest lipstick I own, so with this I always wear a lip balm underneath. I would wear this lipstick to nice Christmas dinner party with a black dress and some sparkle. This will last on the lips for a very long time without touch-ups.

3 // Milani Matte Kiss: This is a similar color to MAC’s Ruby Woo for less money and less dryness. Β It won’t last on the lips as long while eating, so this would be a really fun lipstick to wear riding around seeing Christmas lights or going to see Santa Clause.

4 // NARS Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella: This is AMAZING, it is stunning, long-lasting, and very comfortable. This is a darker red than the rest of them and is super flattering on the lips. It’s perfect for this time of year. I would wear this on Christmas day (if you actually put on makeup that day) because it lasts on the lips so long you won’t have to worry about reapplying it all day. P.S. I can’t figure out how to get more product out… am I supposed to sharpen this because it doesn’t twist up… :/

5 // ELF Matte Lipstick in Wine: This is for the girl that doesn’t want to fully commit to red lips. This is more of a berry color with red undertones. And to me it looks even more red on the lips, but it is gorgeous. Very comfortable on the lips and it is so affordable. I would wear this to a Candlelight Service at church, because it isn’t so in your face red (not that you can’t wear red lips to church… I do it all the time), but it still looks festive and beautiful.

So that my friends is My Top 5 Red Lipsticks, I hope you areΒ inspired to try a new red lipstick this Christmas season, or break out that red lipstick you used to love but never wear anymore. Makeup is fun, don’t be afraid of red lipstick!

Do you wear more red lipstick around the holidays than other times of the year?

MAC Ruby Woo is a great color but would always dry out my lips. Instead I moved over to wearing Russian Red and haven’t looked back since :)

Ruby Woo is so dry!!! I have never tried Russian Red, I’ve always heard about it though!

Love the elf one! All are beautiful colors but I tend to lean towards more wine-type colors. Great post!

I want that ELF one! Such a pretty shade. I tend to prefer the shades that lean more toward “wine” than bright red on myself.

You should definitely try it! It is so nice on the lips, and feels very comfortable and stays put for a while. Plus it’s so affordable who could go wrong?!

Very informative post on red lipsticks. I don’t wear lipstick often but I loved the comparisons and details under each shade. Thanks! By the way, I’m not sure if it’s my computer but not all the pictures loaded. Great post.

Thank you so much for stopping by! You should try one of these some day! I know lipstick isn’t for everyone, but just for the fun of it! :)
Thanks for letting me know about some of the pictures. They work on my computer and phone so I’m not really sure what I could do about that!

Yes, you can sharpen cruella. I use the grind house by Urban Decay to sharpen mine.

Haha okay good, it didn’t look like one that would be sharpened but it also wouldn’t twist up! I’m glad to know that though because I love it… a lot! :)
