My Top Face Masks

March 5, 2015 By TheBeautySection 21 Comments

My Top Face Masks for oil control, acne prone skin, hydrating and moisturizing, brightening, and anti-aging.

Hey friends!

I don’t know about you but I love doing face masks, they are so pampering but also do great things to your skin in a short amount of time. I TRY to do a mask at least once a week, but let’s be honest sometimes that just doesn’t happen. When I do make the time, these  are my favorite! And yes there are a ton, but I have tried so many masks… I told you I love them. Keep reading to find out all about them.

A lot of pictures I know, but I really like to show you guys the products. I will start from top to bottom.

1 // Mint Julep Masque by Queen Helene: This mask is amazing for oily, acne prone skin. It removes dirt, oil and blackheads. I have used this forever, it’s just one of those staples for me. And it smells amazing.

2 // Sephora Rose Mask: This is a sheet mask which I really love, it makes the skin brighter, and really hydrated. This is a one time use mask, but I felt like my face was more plump after using it. Great mask to scare kids with :)

3 // Michael Todd Milk + Honey Firming Mask: This is just a no brainer mask, it’s really hydrating and creamy and just leaves your skin feeling so soft and smooth.

4 // GlamGlow YouthMud Tingle Exfoliate Treatment: Everyone knows the GlamGlow masks are amazing, and this one isn’t any different. It makes your face feel all tingly and I really like that because it lets me know it’s working. It leaves my skin glowing.

5 // Michael Todd Pumpkin Mask: Another Michael Todd mask yes, but these are just so great! They are all organic so you aren’t putting anything bad on your skin. This one smells amazing, and is really hydrating, perfect for harsh winter months.

6 // Elemis Papaya Enzyme Peel: This mask if formulated for anti-aging, and while I don’t really need that yet it’s always nice to prevent. This smells nice and fruity and unlike your typical peels you just wash this off with a washcloth. It leaves the skin feeling tight… in a good way.

7 // AcneFree Therapeutic Sulfur Mask: This mask is really neat because it can be used several different ways. You can use it just as a cleanser, a full mask, or spot treatment. My favorite us is probably for spot treatment. The mask turns light blue indicating it’s ready to be washed off.

8 // GlamGlow SuperMud Clearing Treatment: I absolutely love this mask, I have a full review on it here.

9 // Biore Self Heating One Minute Mask: This is a charcoal based mask that self heats when it touches your face. I would be lying if I didn’t tell you how shocked I was the first time this started heating up. It gets pretty hot to say the least. It never dries like your typical mask does, and you only leave it on for one minute, that’s probably what I don’t like the most because I like to leave my masks on for a long time. After you rinse this off though you are left with the smoothest baby skin, clear of all the gunk from makeup. It’s amazing.

10 // IntesivEye Collagen Under-Eye Pads (Similar): I consider these specialty masks. I think these are great to do for a special event or occasion you are going to. If you suffer from sleepless nights and have bags under your eyes I highly suggest these. They actually work. These are also really fun for a girls night in pamper party or something.

So these are my favorite masks, I know there are so many but they all do different things. :)

What is your favorite face mask? I’d love to know, I’m always looking to extend my collection!

I’ve been wanting to try a sheet mask. I got one once in an Influenster VoxBox, but the sheet was SO large (maybe I just have a really tiny head…), it was difficult to use and enjoy it. And it smelled HORRID! I was gagging the entire time I was wearing it (I forget what type of mask it was…but it was incredibly strong and smell, lol)

I’ll have to try that Rose Mask. I’m always going into Sephora, lol, so need to toss it into my basket next time. Sounds like it would be a delightful scent. :-)

I’ve heard awesome things about that Mint Julep Masque from Queen Helene. I’ve just never picked it up. Good to hear you recommend it. I really do need to try it and see how it helps my oily, acne-prone skin.

Yea the Sephora Sheet mask was kind of big too, your face is smaller than mine so it may be too big for you for sure. Eeek I can’t stand things that smell bad especially when it goes on your face and it’s so close to your nose.
Definitely try the Rose mask, it was really nice, bummer that it’s only a one time use. I want to try the other kinds too.

You have to try Mint Julep, it has really been a staple in my skincare routine for years. It just does it’s job. It’s always great for my oily skin. Let me know if you do try it! :)

Yes! I am so in: I love face masks! I usually do them at least once a week! I need to try that Acnefree mask and the Michael Todd one sound also great. So awesome that we seem to have a very similar skin type, so I can refer very much on your reviews! Kisses sweet Anna!

Yes face masks are the best!! Definitely try both of those, they work really well! And yea we do have the same skin type. I love finding other people with my same skin type and problems, so I can try the things they use. It really helps! Hope you have a great day Sissi! :)

Thank you for sharing these! I love doing face masks and need to get some new ones. Right now I have a 5-minute one that has goji berries and acai in it. It makes my face feel so smooth and look bright and clear. I try to do it at least once a week. I want to try the Sephora Rose Mask you shared. I’ve never tried a sheet mask, but it sounds awesome. I’m not sure about the more plump part though… it would be worth a shot, though!

That sounds like a cool mask. For some reason I don’t like masks that are only meant to be on for a short time. I feel like they don’t do as much although I’m sure they do. Like the one minute mask I featured, I love it but wish it was longer. Yea definitely try the Sephora Rose Mask, all of those Sheet masks are just $6 which is a pretty good price. I mean plumping as in looking more youthful, which is a good thing! :) Plus that doesn’t last forever or you may not even notice it! :)

I’m going to have to try some of those. Right now I’m really loving the Queen Helene avocado and grapefruit mask. It’s made my pores smaller and hasn’t dried out my skin either, which I love!

Oh nice, I’ve never tried another Queen Helene one, I’ve always just stuck with the mint julep, this sounds great though!

I LOVE Korean sheet masks! They just make my skin glow like nothing else! My favourite at the moment is the Missha Deep Sea Water sheet mask, it is an anti ageing mask that is super hydrating. Totally transforms my skin when I’ve used it!

I forgot about the Mint Julep mask. I used to use it in high school! I use this oatmeal/honey mask from the Body Shop and it really calms my skin down.
