Hey everyone!!
I hope you had a really great Memorial Day Weekend! We ended up having better weather than they predicted so I was able to get out and swim and spend time with family and friends. I love this time of year!! Keep reading to see my Nighttime Skincare Routine.
Nighttime Skincare Routine
Step 1. I make sure I always remove my makeup before washing my face. Even if you are way too tired to wash your face with a cleanser at least try to use a makeup wipe to remove oil, dirt, and makeup before you sleep, if you don’t wear makeup you should still do this. I can’t tell you how many makeup remover wipes I’ve been through. I try a new brand basically every time I run out so the brand isn’t the focus here, they just need to work.
Step 2. After I have removed all my face makeup, I remove stubborn eye makeup, like waterproof mascara. I have tried a lot of eye makeup removers and they all are too oily for me leaving my eyes burning and itchy. I love Bioderma, it’s basically a cleansing water that will remove makeup and cleanse your skin, and tone it… Jack of all Trades I tell ya (I love this stuff and it lasts forever, I’ve had it over a year…Amazon told me so). Just use it with a cotton round.
Step 3. Now I cleanse my face with a cleanser. I switch out different types of cleansers a lot but right now I am loving this Charcoal Cleanser from Biore. Click here to read more about it. I always use a cleansing brush like the Soniclear, click here to read my review on it. I use a cleansing brush to wash my face because they really get all that makeup off you would have left behind with just using your hands.
Step 5: After the face is cleansed and dried I go back in with my Bioderma and a cotton round and tone my face, this will also get off any extra makeup that you missed. Your face will feel so super clean after this.
Step 6: Now I moisturize my face and neck. I use the Clinique Moisturizer because it’s lightweight and doesn’t make my skin feel really greasy. But some nights when I feel like my skin needs an extra drink of moisture I will use something a lot more heavy like the Korres Rose Sleeping Facial. Click here to read my review on this.
Step 7: Then I use an eye gel… this is pretty self explanatory but just pat it under the eye area. I also go to the side and on the lid too. I like using a gel because it has a cool sensation which helps in de-puffing the under eye area as well. Always try to use your ring finger to apply your eye gel/cream because it has the softest touch, perfect for the sensitive skin under your eye.

Step 8: Lastly if I have any breakouts I use a concentrated acne treatment to dry it up. If you have breakouts you will have to figure out which type of product works for you Benzoyl Peroxide (works for me) or Salicylic Acid. Whichever one works get a product with that in it and apply it to the breakout and sleep with it on. Wash it off the next morning.
So this is my Nighttime Skincare Routine, I switch it up every now and then but this is generally what works for me. I also do some type of Face Mask at least once a week. Click here to check out my DIY Face Mask.
What products do you use before going to bed?
My skin is so sensitive I can only wash my face with water. I’ve yet to find a face wash that doesn’t break me out. Boo! I’m stopping by from the blog hop & I hope your having a great Monday.
Have you ever tried using Cetaphil? It is made for sensitive skin and it is really really great! They have cleanser, makeup remover wipes, and moisturizer too! It would be worth a shot to try if you haven’t! Thanks for stopping by! :)

Does this eye cream benifit dark circles
This one isn’t really geared towards dark circles. What you probably need is one with caffeine in it. Caffeine helps reduce dark circles. Also try to use a concealer with a salmon or yellow tone to cancel out green or blue dark circles!
Hi! I use the OCM, so that is my cleaning and make-up removal steps in one. The oil really helps with eye makeup. Then I use a Vitamin C serum, then moisturize. Lastly, if I have time, I’ll do a lash growth serum application and use a cream on any breakouts. Pretty universal :)
I’m Holly @ Southern Mom Loves. I found you through the Social Media Mixer!
Sounds like a really great nighttime skincare routine! Thanks so much for sharing yours and stopping by! :)
I was using an eye gel from the body shop but I felt like it wasn’t really doing anything – not even really moisturizing. I’m using an origins eye cream right now but I’ll have to check out the Olay version to see if it works any better!
Yea it just depends on personal preference! I find that it does a good job of de-puffing, but when I run out I’ll probably switch to a cream. I love to try new things! :)
Haven’t seen that eye gel before. Most of the eye stuff I see are creams, is it any different as a gel?
The only difference is eye gel is more suited for younger skin and eye cream is suited for older skin. But you can use either one no matter your age, but an eye cream will work better for deeper wrinkles because it hydrates more. Hope this helps!
I have to admit, this is a great reminder for me. I am really bad about going to bed without washing my face. Thanks for the great tips!
Haha it’s okay, I’m the same way too sometimes. Sometimes it just seems like such a hassle but I do try! :)
Hmm. Now I have to try the eye gel. Bacause at the moment I’m using Lumene eye cream. That refresging feeling sounds great :D
It is really nice and it goes on super easy and dries quick!
Nice skincare routine you have here! I’ve been wanting to try Bioderma for awhile now, with the rave it gets in the Beauty World it has to be somewhat amazing! Need to give the Olay eye gel a go, my current eye creams aren’t working miracles for me! Stopped over from the Let’s Be Friends Blog Hop!

Awesome thanks so much for stopping by!! Definitely give the Bioderma a try it’s so nice because it can really do so much! Absolutely love it!! :)
I always use Cetaphil as my moisturizer !!! Oh.. I bought some Burt’s Bees watermelon and sage makeup remover wipes and looovveee them!!
Is the Cetaphil heavy or greasy? I’ve used their cleanser and LOVED it so much!! Really great for sensitive skin! And those makeup remover wipes sound divine! They just have to smell incredible!
Thanks for the tips! I started using coconut oil to remove my eye makeup because I had allergic reactions to most other types of eye makeup remover. It works great and I never have a problem with it. I also LOVE the Clinique lotion! It’s the best for my face.
That’s a great idea! Coconut oil can literally be used for so much!! I love it! I’ll have to try it soon! :)
you can email me your ideas please. thanks.
i’ve tried the wipes too but every one I try they always end up being dry. and no matter what I tend to use for my face, my face is still dry. like ridiculously. any ideas of how i can fix that issue.
I would suggest a hydrating makeup remover cleansing wipes from maybe Neutragena or something, they have a ton of different wipes to pick from and I’m sure you could find a great one. Or get one for sensitive skin like Cetaphil or Simple brand because the ones you have used just maybe too harsh for your skin. I hope this helps! Let me know if you find a really great one that works with your skin!
