What It Is:

Real Techniques Bold Metals 301 Flat Contour Brush has a dense, flattop head that creates shadows and highlights on targeted areas of face to play up your favorite features. Ideal for contouring and sculpting.”

Packaging:

Let’s just go ahead and put this out there, these brushes are stunning. Honestly when I saw these in Ulta I was absolutely drawn to them just by how they looked. The brush I got comes in a very pretty rose gold finish. There are 3 different types of brushes in the Bold Metals Collection, base, eyes, and finish each coming in a different “metal” such as gold, platinum, and rose gold. I like the idea of this. Also the brush handles have a really nice diamond shape to them, making them really easy to hold. The bristles are a white, but as you can tell mine has been gently used.

Price:

$25.99 and can be found Exclusively at Ulta. I know what you are thinking… $26 for a Real Techniques brush. If you are familiar with RT brushes, they are normally $12 or so, so this is a big leap. When I first found these at Ulta I had no idea how much they were until the lady rang me up. I went ahead and bought the contour brush, but knew in my mind as soon as I left I would be returning it because of the price tag. Without giving away the end result of this review… I obviously didn’t return it. :)

Performance:

This brush is really easy to use because the bristles are dense making it so easy to contour any area of your face. The bristles are also very soft that when applying to the face it feels like velvet. This is the perfect shape to really get in those areas and contour.  It blends cream or powder products without looking patchy or streaky. Right now I’ve been using it with the Anastasia Contour Kit, which I will eventually do a review on… I just got it a couple days ago.

Final Thoughts:

I really really like this brush. Believe me, if I didn’t I would have returned it a while ago. It really just works. I’ve tried other brushes for contouring and they just don’t seem to pack on the color and blend it out, but this one does. I think it is definitely worth the money because of it’s really great quality and how well it works.  I highly recommend this brush if you are looking for a great contouring brush.
