Review of the much hyped about Dior Creme De Rose Lip Balm. Is it worth the splurge?

Today I am doing a review on the Christian Dior Creme De Rose Smoothing Plumping Lip Balm. To start out you probably already know it’s going to be expensive because it is Dior. It is definitely the most expensive lip balm I own and will probably ever own. Is this is worth the splurge?

At this point you are probably wondering how much this actually is… it is $27 and can be found at Sephora, or the Dior counter at department stores. I wanted to try this out because I had heard so much hype on this product, plus after reading so many great reviews on Sephora’s website, I thought why not.

It comes in a nice classic box and a really nice ceramic pot with .25 oz. The good thing is, you don’t need a whole lot so this will last a long time.

What’s Inside.

Review: Christian Dior Creme De Rose Smoothing Plumping Lip Balm

The product itself is really nice, creamy, and it feels very luxurious. When I first started using it I didn’t really like it that much because it seemed pretty ordinary, but the more I used it and really got through that first layer the better it got. It is a light pink color in the pot but completely sheer on the lips. It also has a nice rich rose scent, that I personally really love.  There is something so calming about rose scented things.

What they say: “Crème de Rose is a refined lip balm that soothes, re-plumps, hydrates, and protects the lips with SPF 10.This nourishing lip balm comes in one universal petal pink shade and features a delicate rose scent.”

I slather a gracious amount on my lips each night before crawling into bed and wake up with super baby soft lips. This can also be used about 10 minutes before applying lipstick to keep your lips moisturized throughout the day. I’ve only done that a few times, but I prefer to use it at night. I personally wouldn’t say this is a plumping lip balm, however I do think it makes your lips look very healthy.

Overall Verdict:

I really love how luxurious and smooth this feels. It goes on the lips flawlessly and lips feel very soft after each use. The scent is perfection, and I also love how long this will last, I can probably get a full year out of one pot.

Would I repurchase it? Probably not, For $27, I was expecting for my lips to never be dry as long as I was using it, but I was wrong. This isn’t a miracle worker by any means, if you always have dry, cracked lips this will make them feel softer, but it won’t heal them. I’m really glad I tried it just to get the curiosity out of my head, but I think there are a lot of great lip balms out there that don’t cost as much.

I hope this gave you some insight if you were debating purchasing this lip balm.  If you have used this what do you think about it? Is it worth it?
