This or That: Micellar Water

April 10, 2015 By TheBeautySection 8 Comments

Micellar

Hey everyone!

Hope you have had a great week and onto an even better weekend. Today I’m going to be talking to you about Micellar Water and comparing two brands, one more expensive and one obviously cheaper. Plus I will tell you exactly what Micellar Water is, because girl you should be using it. Keep reading to find out more.

This or That: Micellar Water

What is Micellar Water and Why You Should Use it:

It’s a skincare product used to remove makeup and cleanse the skin, without having to rinse it off.  You should be using it, if you are the type of person that is just way too tired to wash their makeup off at night… believe me, I’m guilty too. We all have those nights where the last thing we want to do is go through our full skincare routine. This can definitely help with that.

This or That: Micellar Cleansing Water. Bioderma or Simple?

This or That: Micellar Water

This or That: Micellar Water

Today I am going to compare two brands, but there are many more brands out their on the market now. Micellar water is becoming so much more popular now, I’m sure we will see a lot more of it popping up everywhere.

Bioderma Vs. Simple.

1 // Bioderma: Is only available on Amazon for US customers, comes in two different options dry sensitive skin, or combo oily skin, 16.91 oz, $26, no scent

2 // Simple: Is available in any drugstore, only has one kind, 6.7 oz, $7.99, no scent.

So as you can see Bioderma is a lot more expensive and isn’t as readily available as Simple is. Even though Bioderma is a lot bigger, if you do the math Simple is cheaper per ounce.

How To Use:

This or That: Micellar Water

This or That: Micellar Water

They both have the same type of packaging, so to use them both I just squeeze a little onto a cotton pad and work in circular motions starting at my forehead.

I don’t always use them to take off all of my makeup, but I will use it after I’ve washed my face to make sure I removed everything,  I have used micellar water to completely remove all of my makeup and it does work great, just not something I do every night ( it takes a lot of cotton pads if you wear a lot of makeup).

This or That?

If I had to pick, I would buy the Simple Micellar Water again next time. They do the EXACT same thing, but Simple is much cheaper, and so much easier to get your hands on. I love Bioderma, but for now Simple has my heart! :)

Have you ever used a Micellar Water? What are your thoughts?

I don’t wear make up very often and when I do, it’s not very much. I don’t really have a skin care routine either (wash with warm water and some cleanser when I think it needs it other wise just water in the shower). If I do have an outbreak I use pore cleanser or something like that and that seems to work. I think Simple can be purchased from the supermarket so might be worth having a look at.

Yea it’s definitely worth trying. Even if you don’t wear makeup, you can still cleanse your skin from oil, dirt, and other impurities by using this cleansing water. It isn’t just for removing makeup by any means! :)

Do you perhaps know what the difference between Micellar water and just normal cleansing water is? I love the Pond’s and Nivea cleansers and it sounds like they do the exact same job.

The difference is Micellar water is triple purified water, so it is the purest form water can be. It doesn’t have anything harsh in it at all that will hurt your skin. I have never seen the Pond’s or Nivea one, but if they say Micellar water then you are good to go! :)

I just added the Simple brand’s Micellar water to my night stand! I love having the option of using this on a cotton pad instead of using an entire facial wipe (which always makes me feel so wasteful). I use the Micellar water in the morning and sometimes throughout the day if I am feeling oily (and I am not wearing makeup that day).

I know it’s so great, it literally takes off everything!! Haha I do the exact same thing, if I’m not wearing makeup and my face feels like it needs a cleaning I will use this during the day. It makes my face feel much more refreshed! :)
