Too Faced Melted Lipstick Review

Too Faced Melted Review

Hey friends!

Today I’m going to do a review on the Too Faced Melted Lipsticks. These things have seriously been all the rave lately and you know I just had to try to see what’s up! I’ve been wearing it for a few weeks now. So keep reading to see what I think about these lipsticks.

The Packaging

The packaging and innovation behind this lipstick is literally brilliant. The lipstick comes in a squeeze tube like some lip glosses do, The applicator is kind of a sponge texture and once you squeeze enough product onto the applicator you can spread it on your lips. It is actually a little bit easier and less messy to apply than an actual tube of lipstick. It’s very interesting. The product also won’t dry out or melt like lipsticks can when they are in a tube. I think Too Faced was really onto something when they created this.

The Product

Too Faced Melted Review

In my opinion the color choice is pretty limited. There are only 5 colors in the line (one extra color exclusive to only Sephora) and most of them are Β bright/bold not as easy to wear colors. If you don’t like neons or bold lips you probably won’t like this. I really like bold lips so I picked Melted Violet. The color is so beautiful and really pigmented. It goes on the lips the exact same color it comes out. It’s very opaque so you don’t need many coats to get the true color. What I don’t like about it is the formulation… it is so drying. My lips can be super moisturized and soft and literally minutes after putting this on my lips are dry and flaky. Also it doesn’t last on the lips as long as I was hoping. It comes off pretty quickly if you eat or drink anything. I have a lot of lipsticks that stay on much longer than this.

The Price

These are $21 each which is a lot for a lipstick. But because it is in a squeeze tube and so pigmented you don’t need too much product meaning it should last a pretty long time… or at least I hope so :). These can be bought at Ulta or Sephora. Click here toΒ see the other colors!

Overall Verdict

I love the pigmentation, color, and innovation of this lipstick. I think the thought behind it is super cool and if the formulation could be perfected it would be a really great product. I don’t like that it dries out the lips so fast, and it doesn’t last on the lips as long as I personally like. I’m kind of that girl that forgets to re-apply lipstick after lunch so I need something to stay on during lunch. I also think it’s too expensive, if it wasn’t drying I would think the price is reasonable. Would I buy this or another color again? Not unless they reformulate it making it a moisturizing lipstick.

Have you tried the Too Faced Melted Lipsticks? If so what did you think of them?

If not, do you want to try them?

I wondered how these lipsticks would be because I agree with you, it’s a very innovative idea. I’m disappointed to find out they are so drying. That’s the one thing I really dislike about lipsticks: they can dry out your lips so much and become so high maintenance.

Yea I was diaapointed too at least I took one for the team haha! :) I still wear it, but I try to only wear it once a week if that because it will pretty much dry out my lips for the rest of the week. It’s such a bummer!

I’m not a fan of bold lipsticks on me, but on others it looks great. I am not a fan of crazy colors, but the color you chose looks pretty cool.

Yea not everyone likes bold lips, I don’t know why but it’s just my thing. Like I look a little funny when I’m wearing a nude lip or something it’s funny! Thanks for stopping by! :)

Yea I love how pigmented these are! I’m glad these work for you, maybe it’s just my lips but I can’t handle how dry they made them feel! Thanks for stopping by! :)

Oh, nuts, I wanted this to be really great! I hate drying lipsticks. I’ll take one that comes off too easily before I’d use one that dries my lips to excess. Oh well. But thanks for keeping me from wasting 21 buckaroos!!!

I know I wanted it to be really great too, especially because I love the color! I am going to use it until every drop is gone though haha I’m not letting $21 go to waste! I may have to put on a lip balm before I wear it or something! Glad I could help! :)

Interesting, I love the idea of it being in a squeeze tube! I’m horrible at applying lipstick so I’ll have to give this a try :)

I love the applicator! I don’t like neon or bold colors and it’s pretty expensive for lipstick, though. Probably not worth it for me, but if they came out with more natural pink/red colors I might consider it.

Yea I agree about it being too expensive, especially for the quality. They do have one nude color though, although I guess it would depend on your skin tone because some nudes just don’t look good. I love Mac lipsticks, they are better quality, have more colors, and less expensive! :)
