Happy HUMP Day!!
Haha when you read that I totally hope you are saying it like the camel!! I was tagged by the beautiful Sarah from 12 Twenty Seven blog, (please please please go check her out) to do the Tour Through Blogland which is basically a behind the scenes look at my writing process for my blog. So if you have been wondering the steps I take then keep reading.
I was so excited to be tagged by Sarah for this because I’ve seen so many of these going around and it’s just so neat to see where people write their blog from or how they get inspiration, so I hope you enjoy this too.
Tour Through Blogland:

Behind the Scenes:
The first picture up above is my bedroom, this is where I write most of my blog posts! I have a desk in another room and tables galore but I feel the most comfortable sitting on my bed Indian style propped up against tons of pillows going to town on my blog.
The second picture is my planner where I schedule all my posts and jot down ideas, this can get pretty messy, but a full calendar makes me happy. I didn’t even take a picture of the front of my planner but it’s so cute, it’s from May Designs.
The last picture is a behind the scenes look at how I take my pictures. I sometimes use scrapbook paper as my background (I feel like I’m giving away all my secrets), but as you can tell the picture before I edit is so far away and it shows some things in my space that I don’t want on camera and has dimmer lighting. After editing you can see it is cropped and brought in a lot closer to the product, add some lighting and graphic and there you go. I do take all my pictures with my phone which is a Samsung Galaxy S5 (I’m asking Santa for a real camera this Christmas)
Questions:
What am I working on? I am currently working on tomorrow’s post which is a product review of the IT Cosmetics Naturally Pretty Palette, so come back tomorrow for that. I am editing pictures, researching the product, and writing the post.
How does my work differ from those in my genre? I try to do several different kinds of beauty posts to keep it interesting always hoping that people are learning something new along the way. I also show a good variety between drugstore products and high-end so if you want to save or splurge you have those options.
Why do I write? I write in hopes that my readers are learning new things and gaining knowledge about beauty. I know a lot about beauty things so I really just enjoy sharing those with others.
What is my writing process? I don’t have a writing process exactly. What I normally do is I try to plan out my posts for a month (there are times things move and shift). So on Sunday I will take my pictures for the posts for the upcoming week. After I take my pictures I get them on my computer and start editing them. To edit I use Picasa first then Canva. I start uploading the pictures into my posts, I honestly can’t start writing my post unless I have all my pictures laid out exactly where I want them to go. Then after my pictures are in I start writing, and researching simultaneously. After I have finished typing it all up and adding all the appropriate links so you can buy the products too, I preview it and read over it again making sure everything looks good. Then I either schedule it to be published at a certain time or I publish it live the next day. I’m not super organized with my writing process yet, sometimes I’m still finishing up or starting a post on the day it goes out…oops. Or sometimes I’m really prepared and get it done way early, it just depends on the week.

Can you believe I take all my blog pictures with my phone?
I have a hard time writing my posts without pictures either! It eliminates the “blank page” feeling.

Haha I know right?!
I love delving into the ‘behind the scenes’. Thankyou for showing us around! And what a neat idea of taking photos of products on patterned paper for different backgrounds! I will definitely remember this for when I need it! Thanks :)
Thank you for stopping by! This was a fun post to do, and I’m the same way I love seeing peoples set up and behind the scenes details we don’t normally see or even know they happen…like the scrapbook paper! :)
This is very nice and gave me ideas and inspiration about blogging. Congrats.
Aww thank you so much!! :)
Yay! I loved this peek into your world. Your room is so cute!

I know me too, thank you for checking it out! :)
ummm, scrapbook paper?? Brilliant!!! Totally stealing that idea now. =) And i’m impressed you plan so far ahead – i only post a few times a week but typically i write them and then post immediately… go you!!!
Haha steal it girl!! I thought of scrapbook paper because their are lots of different designs to choose from, shortly after I heard another blogger say they use poster board…I haven’t upgraded to that yet. I don’t feel like I post that far ahead, in fact sometimes I feel like it’s just way too close but it works for now! :)
I love posts like this. That chair is to die for lol. Thanks for sharing!
Aww thank you, it was from Marshall’s or TJ Maxx for a pretty good price! And it’s super comfy! :)
Thanks for sharing your blog writing routine! Interesting that you get all the pictures organized first. A blog without pictures is boring to me, pictures are definitely important.
Your right, pictures are so important! I feel like I just can’t get my thoughts together unless I’m looking at the picture I took of what I’m writing about. :)
Yay! I’m so glad you shared your space! I LOVE your bedroom–it looks so cozy! I would have never guessed that your photos were all taken with your phone and I love that idea of using scrapbook paper behind your items–so clever! :)
Thank you for tagging me, this was so fun!! Thank you, I love my room too haha! Yea I think my blog pictures are pretty good given the fact that they are all from my phone, they will be even better with a camera though! :)
