Hey friends!!
As you can tell by the title I am talking to you all about the brand new Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette, if you are a fan of these palettes at all or are just in the market for a new eye shadow palette, you should definitely keep reading.
Urban Decay Naked Smoky Review & Swatches
So if you follow me on Instagram I posted a Sephora bag and asked you to guess what was inside… if you guessed the Naked Smoky palette you were right! I just had to get my hands on this after seeing it in person, spoiler alert… it’s gorgeous!! :)
If you are new to the whole Naked world then let me try to explain it the best I can. Urban Decay has 4 Naked palettes ranging in all neutral, warm, cool, rose, and smoky colors. In my opinion these palettes are great for everyday wear-to-work looks or a full on girls-night-out smoky look. I have palettes 1, 3, and Smoky as well as the Naked Basics.
Packaging:
Let me just say the packaging has come a long way since the first one! The packaging on this palette is absolutely gorgeous. It is my favorite out of all the Naked palettes. It is hard acrylic with a gray smoke pattern running through it and silver embossed lettering. It has a magnetic closure making it really easy to open and close. I didn’t get a picture of the mirror inside (it’s hard taking a picture of a mirror haha), but it is huge it covers the whole top of the inside.
Product:
There are 12 eye shadows in this palette with formulas in the palette range from shimmery to sheen to matte. The quality of these shadows is amazing, they are so buttery and full of pigment. I haven’t used every single shade yet, but the ones I have used have blended out very nicely on the lid with no patchiness. As you can tell in the pictures the palette has some pretty dark shades, but to be honest some of the lighter looking shades like the third from the left is still darker than I was expecting. I think I will really love this palette even more come fall and winter.
Price:
This palette is $54 and can be purchased from Ulta or Sephora.
Swatches:
The swatches go from left to right in the palette.
Final Thoughts:
So far I’m really loving this palette, which isn’t any surprise I love all my Naked palettes. If you are looking for a palette with darker more sultry shades perfect for creating smoky eyes then this is for you. But even if you just want something wearable for work you can still get that with this palette as well. It has absolutely no fall out, even with the darkest colors which is very hard to find. I really recommend this palette for anyone with any skin tone… you will love it!!
Do you own any of the Naked Palettes? Are you going to get this one?
Wow! These colors are great! And I agree…I super impressed with the packaging!
I know the packaging is so nice compared to the others!! I can’t wait to wear these more in the fall and winter!!
I had to have this one.
Oh yea you gotta get it!!
I wanted to buy it! Now I’m definitely considering it!
Take the plunge girl… get it!! :) You won’t regret it!
I don’t own any Naked Palettes but I really want to get one. I’ve never seen one I didn’t like. They’re all so great!
I know they are all so great, you are right about that. Urban Decay really knows what they are doing!! :)
Ugh another Naked palette to make my decision even harder! Haha :) I don’t do smoky eyes too often, but I love having some darker colors like this for special occasions. I especially like the browns/bronzes in this palette.
Haha yup another Naked palette!! Next time you are in Ulta or Sephora you should go by the Urban Decay section and look at all of them, that will help you decide which one you like better for you. In my opinion some of the others have better bronzy shades! :)
