Valentine’s Day Makeup Tutorial

Valentine's Day Makeup Tutorial

Hey everyone!!

Can you believe Valentine’s Day is right around the corner? I know it seems a little early to start preparing for it, but today I want to show you the makeup I’ll most likely be wearing on Valentine’s Day this year. It’s fun and flirty and perfect for V-day, whether you spend it on a hot date, with your girlfriends or staying at home this look is fun for anyone. Keep reading to see how to do it.

Keep in mind this is my very first attempt at a makeup tutorial and it was a little harder than I expected due to getting the right camera angle and all that jazz!

I always start out by applying a primer to my eyes no matter what look I’m doing, it just keeps your eye shadow on all day without creasing. Here I am using MAC’s Paint Pot in Stormy Pink ( a gray/purple shade)

1 // Apply the dark purple cream shadow to the lid in a patting motion with your finger. Using your finger with cream shadow will apply more of the product to the lid than a brush would do. I’m using the Milani Fierce Foil Eye Shine Quad in Rome (these are amazing by the way)

2 // Blend out the cream shadow by applying a light matte brown ( I used Naked 2 from the Naked Basics Palette) to the crease area and blend blend blend. You don’t want any harsh lines here. My favorite brush for this is the Sigma E35 Tapered Blending Brush.

3 // Apply the lighter purple/pink to the inner corner of the eyes to give them a pop, doing this will make you look more awake and youthful. Here I mixed the two lightest shades in the palette but you could just stick to one.

Apply a highlight shade under your brow to pull the look all together, I usually go for a matte-little-lighter-than-skin-tone shade. I typically apply this with my finger too.

Then, I line my waterline with L’Oreal Smoldering Liner in Black and apply liquid liner on my lashline with Jordana Fabuliner in Black.

Lastly I apply my mascara, this day I decided to stack two mascaras for more drama, I mean it’s Valentine’s Day duh! :) I used Too Faced Better Than Sex and Maybelline Lash Sensational

You can’t forget your lipstick, my inner 80’s child wanted to use my favorite neon pink Candy Yum Yum, but I toned it down so it’s more wearable. But just pick your favorite pink and you are good to go. This is Pink Plaid by MAC.

This is the finished look, I hope you enjoyed this, and will recreate your own Valentine’s Day Makeup.  What are your plans for V-day?
