Wedding Makeup: Estee Lauder DoubleWear Stay-in-Place Foundation Review

Hey Everyone!!

Wedding season is pretty much in full effect now so today I am starting a series on Wedding Makeup and each post will showcase makeup that I would wear whether I was the bride, in the wedding, or just attending. I hope you enjoy this serious and can share it with anyone involved in weddings this year. Keep reading to see more.

Wedding Makeup: Estee Lauder DoubleWear Stay-in-Place Foundation Review

The Wedding Makeup I will be talking about today is the Estee Lauder DoubleWear “Stay-In-Place” Foundation.

Why this is great for a wedding:

Estee Lauder DoubleWear Foundation is perfect for a wedding day because like it’s name it really does stay in place. It won’t budge in the heat or humidity, or nonstop activity. Β It is a medium to full coverage foundation that isn’t heavy and actually lets your skin breathe. It also Β looks really great in pictures which is a MUST for wedding day. I have really oily skin (if you didn’t know already) and if I wear this for a long time it does end up getting a bit oily, but it doesn’t look bad like other foundations, it’s very easy to blot away the excess oil and your makeup will look just as flawless as before. It really does stay in place! It also makes other things such as blush, bronzer/contour, and highlighter lay beautifully on top of the foundation.

Packaging:

It comes in a nice glass bottle, but WITHOUT a pump. I hate having to pour foundation out instead of pumping it out, it feels like you are wasting so much more product. You can actually buy pumps for this foundation, I just haven’t done that yet. It comes in 31 shades, so I’m pretty certain there is something for every skin tone.

Price and Where to Buy:

This foundation is $37 and in my opinion 100% worth it for your wedding day. If you aren’t getting married but really want a foundation that will not budge with the summer heat, this is your girl. This foundation can be found at your local department stores at the Estee Lauder Counter, or online at Sephora (not available in stores). I recommend getting color matched for this foundation, especially if you are wearing it on your wedding day.

How I apply this:

I typically apply this foundation with a damp Beauty Blender, dabbing it all over my face until completely blended. Applying it with a BB gives it the most flawless finish.

So there you have a closer look at Estee Lauder’s DoubleWear Foundation, this foundation is pretty much a cult favorite and I can definitely see why. It’s brilliant. I hope this post was helpful to you! Stick around for the rest of the series!

Have you tried Estee’s DoubleWear Foundation yet? If you are married what did you wear on your wedding day?

I have never had any issues with flashback, but if you are worried about that, you can get a sample from your local Estee Lauder counter, use it for a few days and take flash photography and see what happens. I would much rather test it out on a sample rather than buy a whole bottle.

      I hope this helps! :)

Great post! Nothing is worse than trying to look glamorous but your makeup just won’t hold up in the summer heat!

Haha exactly, and on your wedding day you shouldn’t be worrying about your makeup, so this is perfect for that!

This stuff sounds awesome! I definitely want something that’s more heavy-duty and will make sure I look flawless while staying put if I’m crying haha! I’m not sure what my make-up stylist is planning to use but I’ll have to keep this in mind.

Yea you should definitely give it a try! It is really expensive, but if you are like me I only use it when I know I’m going to be gone for a long time, or on special occasions! :)

Wish I would have had a great resource like your blog before I got married! I am always guessing when buying makeup . . . Great review! What do you think of mineral powders?

Aww thank you, that’s so sweet!! I love to buy makeup and beauty products so always come by the check out my recommendations. I personally don’t care for mineral powders just because they don’t cover as well as I want them to. But if you have really great skin that doesn’t need a lot of coverage then you will probably really like them! :)
