Hey! How are you today? I am doing great! Spring is definitely in the air and I’m so excited about it. Warmer weather and sandals FTW! Last month I started a series on “My Top”, so once a month I am sharing with you my top products in a certain category. This month I am telling you all about My Top Makeup Brushes. The right makeup brushes make a big difference. Continue reading to find out my faves!
My Top Makeup Brushes
When I was thinking about this post and which brushes I wanted to pick, I decided to show you guys the brushes I use every single day without fail. There are plenty of other brushes that I love, but if I don’t use them every day then they can’t possibly be “My Top”, so here we are… the cream of the crop, the best of the best.
Face.
From Top to Bottom
Powder Brush / Morphe E1 / This is a really good brush for applying all over powder to the face. It is large so it doesn’t take a ton of effort, or where you have to dip back into the powder several times to cover your face. It is dense so it also picks up a lot of product and it’s able to really blend it into the skin. Very good brush.
Bronzer Brush / Real Techniques / Meet my oldest brush, if you couldn’t tell by the handle. This brush is great at applying bronzer all over the face. You could also use this as a powder brush if wanted. Like my fave powder brush, it is dense so you pick up a good amount of bronzer the first time. Blends great and has held up for years!
Contour Brush / Morphe M527 / I love this brush! (I obviously love all of these :) ) It is a dupe for the Tom Ford contour brush and it’s just so good. It’s the perfect size to contour with, and blend your contour out with. It’s not going to create a harsh contour, but one that is natural and beautifully blended. One of my faves!
Blush Brush / Morphe E4 / This brush is actually advertised as a contour brush, but I love it for blush. It is in the perfect angle to apply blush on the cheeks and swoop up to your hair line by your eyes. It blends really well, I’ve never had any streaking or harsh lines with this brush. So good!
Eyes.
From Top to Bottom
Blending Brush / Morphe M433 / This is always the first brush I use on my eyes everyday. I lay down my transition shadow with this and it blends so nicely. I love the short haired dome shape of this brush because it gives you the most control. If you are just starting out in makeup I highly recommend this brush, it will teach you how to blend.
Flat Shader Brush / Real Techniques / A flat stiff brush is a must for eye shadow. It helps your pack on your shadow while making it as opaque as possible. If I tried to apply eyeshadow to my lid with the brush I mentioned above you wouldn’t get even close to the same effect. This brush is meant to flatten your eyeshadow on your eye in the perfect way. This is also amazing for glitters and all shadows that shine, add Fix+ to your brush for power punch! This is one of my must haves for sure!
Blending/Cleanup Brush / Elf Concealer Brush / When I bought this brush, I wasn’t exactly sure what I was going to be using it for. Until one day my eyeshadow blending was lookin a little crazy (we’ve all been there), and I used this brush to blend out that eyeshadow and kind of clean up the look. It looks like a charm blending and cleaning eyeshadow that you might have messed up, you went a little “out-of-bounds” with. I didn’t think I would use this as much as I do, but it’s a must when I am finishing up an eye look.
Pencil Brush / Sigma E30 / This is another one of my oldest brushes. I don’t do liquid liner or gel, I feel like that is sometimes too harsh for my smaller eyes. So I always use my pencil brush and dip it in black eyeshadow to create a “winged” liner look with eyeshadow. It’s a much softer look for me, and it looks great. This pencil brush is a main player in achieving that look. It’s so good at making a line, blending smaller areas out, or even applying shadow in a concentrated area. Definitely one I can’t be without.
I hope you enjoyed today’s post on My Top Makeup Brushes. These are tried and true and most of them I’ve been using for years now! If you are looking for new brushes, or just getting into makeup, I highly recommend every single one of these.

Real techniques is one of my favourite brush brands and I recently picked up a few sigma brushes I can’t wait to try. I definitely need to try morphe brushes next.

Yea I used to use Sigma all the time, then Morphe because easier to get a hold of so I use them mostly. They are very similar quality tho which is nice! :)
I can’t do eyeshadow at all, so this is helpful knowing what brushes I need to maybe get better at it. Thanks.
Yea and practice makes “perfect”, the more you practice the better you will get! :)
