This or That: Creme De Rose Lip Balm Dupe

August 4, 2014 By TheBeautySection 19 Comments

Christian Dior Creme De Rose Dupe

Hello lovelies!!

I don’t know about you but I am all about that dupe life! Finding a really great dupe for a super high end product is almost like finding gold at the end of a rainbow. I mean seriously. Don’t get me wrong there is definitely a time to splurge and a time to save, but if you can find a really similar product for way cheaper then save on those items and splurge on other items that don’t have a dupe. You know you wanna keep reading now.

This or That: Creme De Rose Lip Balm Dupe

20140723_135150 20140723_135308 20140723_135445

A few months ago I decided to try out the so coveted Christian Dior Creme De Rose Lip Balm. Β It was definitely the most luxurious lip balm I’ve ever tried. Read my review on it here. Β I was content on using that until I ran out and really had no reason to search for another lip balm, but one day browsing Ulta like I do I found this lip balm from Nivea (Nivea Lip Butter | Raspberry Rose Kiss) that seemed very similar. Β After using it a lot I realized it is so similar and I’m pretty much obsessed with it because

a) honestly it feels even better than the Creme De Rose. Super soft and moisturizing.Β

b) it has raspberry and rose in it so it smells even betterΒ

c) it is SO much cheaper so you can buy like 15 of them and keep them in your purse, car, desk at work, room, bathroom… you get it. Unlike Creme De Rose that baby stays in my nightstand because I don’t want to risk loosing it having paid that much for it.

Now I’m sure at this point you are wondering how much they both are right?

Creme De Rose isΒ $27

Nivea Raspberry Rose Kiss isΒ $2.99

That is so much of a difference than I honestly won’t ever repurchase Creme De Rose again. I’m not saying it’s a bad product it’s a really nice product. But I could save myself a lot of money by buying Nivea and spend that $27 on another great product.

Creme De Rose can be found at Sephora or Department Stores that carry Christian Dior. Nivea can be found at Ulta or any drugstore.

What do you typically do when you learn about a dupe? Do you try the dupe or the high end product instead?

Oh my $27?! Yeah I couldn’t talk myself into that lol I tried that Nivea lip butter and wasn’t a big fan. I didn’t like the color it left on my lips. Aquaphor is my go to :)

Thanks for stopping by my blog!

Haha yea $27 is extensive! I’ve honestly never noticed a color one my lips from Nivea, I typically only use it at night before going to bed, so I don’t really care how it looks haha! I’ve heard great things about Aquaphor though! :)

Great dupe! I’ve heard so many good things about the Dior Creme De Rose but I can’t bring myself to spend almost $30 on it. I’ll definitely give the Nivea a go. You can’t beat a $3 lip cream!

I know I had heard so many great things too so I had to try it, but couldn’t handle paying almost $30 for a Lip Balm so I used a gift card haha! But now I know Nivea is the way to go!

I know you should definitely try it! And I’ve never thought about saving the CD container but that is a really good idea! It is really pretty, could be used for rings or something! :)

I usually can’t afford the higher end product, so I go for the dupe! I LOVE lip balm, so I need to try the Nivea one!

β€œbrowsing Ulta like I do” – My life in a nutshell. Great post! I haven’t tried the Nivea Lip balms yet because I prefer a stick form, but after this post, I’m convinced!

Haha yup I’m always browsing Ulta! I’m pretty sure Nivea does have a stick form I’m just not sure if it’s in that same fragrance or not! Good luck! :)

Wow, that is a HUGE difference in price! I love finding dupes too because I can’t always justify spending so much on stuff, even when I can afford it. One of my exceptions is Bare Minerals because it works so well and I haven’t been brave enough to try a cheaper version yet.

I know it’s crazy how much of a difference it is! I definitely have some products that I just can’t settle on buying a dupe, I gotta have the real thing. But it’s definitely fun to find dupes.
