Drunk Elephant Tangle Spray Review: Is It Worth the Hype?

Drunk Elephant Tangle Spray

Hey everyone! I hope your year is off to a great start — I know times are tough, but every day is a chance to find a little joy. Today, I’m diving into a product from a brand we usually associate with skincare: Drunk Elephant’s Wild Marula Tangle Spray. Should they have stayed in their skincare lane, or is this detangling spray a hidden gem? Let’s find out.

Drunk Elephant Tangle Spray Review: Is It Worth the Hype?

Drunk Elephant Tangle Spray

First, What Is Drunk Elephant?

Drunk Elephant launched in 2012 and quickly made waves for removing what they call the “Suspicious 6” — ingredients like silicones and essential oils that can wreak havoc on your skin. Founder Tiffany Masterson built the brand around clean, effective skincare… but in 2020, they branched out into hair care and body care. Enter: the Tangle Spray.

Packaging

True to the brand, the bottle is minimalist white with a bold pop of neon. It’s lightweight, easy to hold, and the mister gives a fine, even spray — no aggressive squirts here.

Price + Where to Buy

This little bottle of detangling magic will set you back $25, and you can snag it at: Sephora or Amazon

Key Ingredients

  • Let’s talk about what’s inside:

    • Fermentoil Hair Complex: A blend of fermented oils that fight frizz and static without relying on silicones.

    • Multi-Amino-Acid Blend: Helps strengthen and add bounce and body.

    • Marula Oil: Rich in antioxidants and fatty acids for shiny, smooth, touchably soft hair.

How I Use It

After towel-drying my hair, I give it a few spritzes of the Tangle Spray, then gently brush through with a Tangle Teezer. That’s it! No need to overthink it — it’s easy, breezy, and quick.

My Honest Thoughts

I’ll be honest — I didn’t do much research before buying this. I spotted it at Sephora, was in the mood for a new leave-in, and took a chance.

And wow… I’m so glad I did.

This makes brushing out wet hair painless (seriously, no more wrestling with knots). My hair feels incredibly soft, looks shiny, and stays frizz-free without being weighed down or oily. With continued use, the results keep improving.

Bottom line? This might be marketed as a detangler, but it’s lowkey a multi-tasking leave-in conditioner. I highly recommend it — and no, Drunk Elephant shouldn’t stick to skincare. Their haircare game is strong.
