Hey everyone!

Welcome back to my blog, and if you are new here I am you stay a while! :) Today I am reviewing the Kat Von D Shade & Light Eye Palette, yes this palette has been out for a hot minute but I just didn’t feel like I needed it before. Keep reading to see if I feel like I need it now.

Kat Von D Shade & Light Eye Palette

If you are anything like me you are thinking I don’t need another eye shadow palette full of neutrals. Oh girl yes you do… these neutrals are nothing like the other neutral palettes I own. If this post doesn’t convince you you actually need this in your life… I’m not doing my job. :)

I mean just look at how gorgeous she is.

What it is:

The Kat Von D Shade & Light Eye Palette is “An eye contouring palette featuring three color quads in neutral, cool, and warm shades.”

Packaging:

As you can see in the picture above, the outside of the palette is black with black and gold embossed letters in a “tattoo font”. I absolutely love the way this looks. I’ve heard Kat Von D sketches and hand designs all of her packaging. Super cool huh?

On the inside of the palette you will find a big mirror which always comes in handy for traveling. Also inside, It is separated into 3 quads, neutral, cool, and warm.  I like how it is laid out, but you can also mix quads up and use whatever color you want together… it’s just makeup have fun!

Price & Where to Buy:

This palette is $46, and can be found at Sephora.

Swatches:

Going from left to right in the palette, the first 4 are the neutrals, second are the cool toned, and last are the warm tones.

Each color is so creamy, rich, and blendable.

Final Thoughts:

This is the palette I never knew I wanted, but now I can’t see my makeup collection without it. Like I said earlier I wasn’t really planning on getting this, but every time I saw it in Sephora it drew me in more and more. Finally I decided to give it a go and I’m so glad I did. This is not a boring matte neutral palette. The colors are seriously so nice and the blend into the perfect eye look every time. You can get so many different looks out of these 12 shades.

If I had to say anything negative about it it would be it does have some fall out, because the shades are so creamy and very pigmented fall out is bound to happen. Just make sure you tap your brush off before applying to remove any excess shadow so it doesn’t end up on your face.

Is it worth it?

Absolutely, if you love your neutrals I highly recommend this palette, it’s different than most neutral palettes because it has 0 shimmer in it. It’s very unique. I know for me I will get so much use out of this. So yes it’s worth it!

Do you have any Kat Von D products? Would you buy this palette?

I have had my eye on this palette for awhile! The only reason I haven’t bought it yet is because I really don’t need another palette!
I have her Liquid Lipstick in Lolita and I am in love with it! also her Ink Eyeliner too in the color trooper. Its awesome. Stays all day.
Her products are definitely top quality and so worth the price.

Yea I felt the same way about the palette too… like honestly do I need another palette. But I definitely don’t regret getting it now that I have it. It’s just so versatile on it’s own, but it can be used with tons of other eyeshadows you already have. I have Lolita too and it’s incredible, the color is perfection! I’ve never tried the eyeliner but I’ve wanted to. Maybe that will be my next KVD purchase! :)

Thanks for the review — seeing swatches is always super helpful! Not sure if I’ll purchase this palette….but I am SO drawn to the fact that it’s matte and neutral! Ugh, those two are my favorite combination!
