Hey everyone!!
So I am a total nail polish junkie, I have over 100 bottles but sometimes I just want something different like a cute design or something for the holidays. Nail art can be so hard plus time consuming so I gave Jamberry Nails a try. Keep reading to see how these compare to regular nail polish.
What are Jamberry Nails?
“The wraps are a solid film covering that can be applied directly to the nail to achieve a look not found anywhere else. This special material is both pressure and heat activated to create a water tight bond to your nail. They are made in the USA with no harsh chemicals and are latex free. This new nail treatment can be applied in about 15 minutes at home with over 300 designs to choose from, these designer wraps are made to last 2 weeks on the fingers and 4 or more on the toes. Unlike tradition nail polish they won’t chip and require no drying time.”
Jamberry Nails Vs. Nail Polish
Fresh Nails:

After 7 Days:

After 7 days my Jamberry Nails were starting to peel up on the edges but for the most part they still looked pretty good. I was actually informed that I probably picked some wraps that were too big for my nail beds causing them not to last as long, that was totally a human error on my part. If you buy some of these definitely make sure you pick a size that is a tad bit smaller than your nail bed.
If I wasn’t so anal I would have been able to keep them on longer, but with the ends peeling up it just made me want to pick at them and take them off. However, I just learned you can file off any part of the wrap that starts to peel up.
The regular nail polish I used from Revlon started chipping a couple days before the 7 day mark. Which honestly, I was a little bit disappointed by. This was my first time using this Revlon Gel Envy polish (since I just finished up a no buying nail polish challenge) and I was hoping it would be a super long lasting drugstore alternative for gel nails. It wasn’t. :/
So the Jamberry Nails win for longevity!!
Final Verdict:
Overall I think these are really great, especially if you want nail art, but don’t have the time or patience to do it yourself. Jamberry literally has hundreds of designs and colors to choose from. But it’s not just designs, there are many solids, as well as really nice work or wedding appropriate wraps. I promise you there is something for EVERYONE, even your kids! :)
I was sent these nail wraps to try by Megan, so if you are interested in getting some for you, or for a great stocking stuffer please check out her website http://megangrier.jamberrynails.net/ or like her Jamberry site on Facebook. You can also host Facebook parties with Megan and get all kinds of hostess perks. Who doesn’t like perks?!
Have you ever tried Jamberry Nails? What was your experience?
I used a different brand. They’re called Lily and fox and they cost $2.99. I’m on day 28 and they look brand new except for the growth of my nail which is pretty obvious.
I was really disappointed in them. My application was very good but they were raggedy before a week was up and the filing didn’t really help. I do a great job applying polish and make sure I have a really good top coat. I’ll definitely be sticking with polish.
Yea I’m kind of with you on that, they didn’t last as long as I feel like they should. I will probably only use these when I want a design that I don’t know how to do! :)
I applied my first set of jamberry nails on Friday (today is Wednesday). I think since it was my first time, I didn’t do the best job putting them on because I had a few air pockets around the edges. The ends have started coming up now which is driving me absolutely crazy but overall they still look ok. I will spend more time heating them and pressing out the air pockets next time around. And I may actually prefer them on my toes or just do one statement fingernail with the rest painted. The possibilities are endless! :)
Yea I think I did the same thing as you Catherine! I realized I should have picked smaller sizes for my nails than I did, but you live and you learn! I know exactly what you mean about the ends starting to come up, all I did was pick at them constantly, that’s when I decided I HAD to get them off. But I still really like them and they definitely come in handy when I don’t have time to put Christmas trees on for my “holiday nails” :)
You are right, the possibilities are endless!
I just ordered my first sets of Jamberry nails. I am excited to have fancy designs and not just colors on my nails for a bit.
I just ordered some Jamberry nails. I am excited that they come in all kinds of fancy designs that I could never paint myself.
Awesome!! You will love them!!! :)
I’ve tried that Revlon polish with their special top coat and was definitely disappointed. I haven’t tried Jamberry before. Have you tried any drugstore nail polish wraps before?
I know total disappointment with Revlon, I thought it was going to be my next favorite polish. As far as drugstore nail wraps, I’ve only tried Sally Hansen and they are really good, great alternative. They don’t have nearly as many designs as Jamberry though! :)
First application of the nails is a bit tricky – The size you picked per nail was too large which leaves air pockets ( you can see it is laid over the cuticle in some spots) . Remember to heat them well, around 5 seconds. They should be bent in half before you apply them . They are vinyl so they will stretch as you apply them. Be sure to also smooth them over the edge of the nail before filing in a downward motion only. Some people use the baggie method which I personally love for that final touch .
I didn’t find the application to be tricky at all, I’ve used many things like this before. There was one nail that was a bit too large, but I had already laid it down at that point and didn’t want to start over. I did heat them well, and filed them in a downward motion. I followed all of the instructions, but I just don’t like when they start peeling up at the ends (just a personal preference). Next time I will definitely pay more attention to the nail size! :)
Thank you for this post!
I was given some Jamberry nails as a gift and have been too lazy to try them, thinking they wouldn’t last long enough to make up for the time spent applying them. :) How did you find the application, by the way? Was it pretty time consuming? I watched some YouTube videos on the application process and it seemed like it’d take forever.
I’m also a total nail polish junkie, by the way. ;)
Absolutely!!
Honestly, I think once you start and get the hang of applying them it doesn’t take too long. It probably takes roughly about 15 minutes to do all 10 nails. If you are wanting nail art this would definitely take less time than trying to do the art yourself, unless you are just a nail art genius!!
Glad to know there are more nail polish junkies out there!! :)
I’ve seen these everywhere but have been hesitant to buy because I change my polish SO much! Maybe Santa will slip some into my stocking for me this year so I can try! :)
Yea I think they are definitely worth trying. I only use things like this for special occasions, because like you I change my polish all the time. These are perfect for designs though! :)
The design you picked was so cute! I loved my samples from Megan. They work so well! Right now I have some on my toes that have been on for well over a month and they still look great.
Megan actually picked the design, but it was really cute! I love the ombre effect! I bet they do last forever on toes, I should definitely try that! Thanks for getting us connected! :)
